there is a pink wire that is an all time power wire and it has lost power I just had the same problem so what I did it I took the stereo out of the dash "mine is aftermarket" I then ran a wire form an orange wire under the steering wheel "which is hot with the key off" and then from that orange wire to the pink wire behind the stereo and everything started working again like it was supposed to. SOURCE: 98 breeze door locks keep locking and unlocking while driving

You have button like things on your door jambs that you can push in by hand, that your door presses against when closed. When they become faulty, or door gets a little loose, this can happen. I normally open one door at a time & work those buttons by hand slowly to see if one acts different than the other, and watch interior light to see if it comes on & off, or has a delay in shutting of when I push button in. Normally the one acting different is that bad one & needs replacement, or even some contact spray (electrical) used on it will help temporarily. Even sticking a piece of gum or layers of tape on the end of the button to make it push in further for test drive can narrow it down. Do one a time, when problem stops, you found the culprit. The other option is to check & see if one door feels loose compared to others by pushing in slightly on them.If you do find one that seems loose, adjust striker in a bit where door latches, to make it tight as the others, and that may just do it too.

Two people here to test it; while another person tries to start it, lightly hit the starter and see if it starts to work. If it does start working, then the starter is defective. If it don't start cranking over then check your battery cables for damage, lose or corrosion. 99% bet first at starter go to bad; 2nd possibilitie the ignition switch.

Confirm if
you can hear the fuel pump come on when you first turn the key on? like a humm? Do you know what the fuel pressure is? Does it have spark to the spark plugs?

I have a prestige remote start in a 03 Chevy S-10 Recently put in new battery and now have problems with the remote. When I use the remote the truck turns over 3x then the doors locks (never starts truck)...

Computer probably thinks someone is trying to steal your vehicle. All remote starts usually require that the door locks must be locked before the engine starts. Make sure the doors are locked before starting.

All my remotes won't unlock passenger doors, why?

this is a problem that can appear after your car battery died, cause the car didn't reset propely, so taking the battery out and putting it back in or letting your car die again would do the trick. I tried a lot of reprogramming procedured for my remote key, none of them worked, what did the trick though was simply unlocking the doors via the all door unlock button on the passenger side door, so simple.

I have a 2005 JGC 5.7 hemi and sometimes remotes wont work only when you want to unlock it.If you use the key to open door alarm sounds. what could be the problem?

Have you tried a new battery in the remote, or do you have a second remote you can test. Either your remote is worn out or the battery is dead.
Once you lock the car with your remote it will active the alarm and if you use your key it won't deactive the alarm only your remote will, on some cars putting the key in the ignition will deactive it.
If you can deactive your alarm with your remote and can just manualy lock and unlock your doors and that should prevent your alarm from going off until you get a new remote or battery.

I changed the key batteries for my 1999 BMW 323i after they died. Afterwards the remote unlock and lock won't work, the car also won't start but it can turn over/on and the radio and the lights...

stick the key in the ignition, turn it to the on position, remove it within 5 seconds, then hold the unlock button down and press the lock button 3 times within 10 seconds and release both buttons. The doors should lock/unlock to give you confirmation and your key should work.

2006 PT cruiser dies intermittently---batery light dies no wiper

Sounds as if the alternator is not charging the battery. Check the alternator for voltage it should put out around 13 volts at idle and normal operation. If it charges then the battery is defective. A good place to start is clean the battery cables to remove any corrosion and make good contact. Many an electrical problem has been solved by cleaning battery cables.

Jeep one year old. Keyless just stopped working. Engine starts for a second then cuts off. Replaced battery in key/remote and still doesn't work. Now alarm sounds if opened with the key the old...

Assuming you have a second key try using that one to deactivate the alarm, if not replace battery in remote. Does lock and unlock work now? you will need to get the remote operational to disengage the security feature that will not allow car to start.
if not disconnect the car battery let sit for 15 min to reset system try again..make sure bettery in remote is installed properly.

My battery died after recharging it the alarm buttom needs to be reset. I need to know where the reset buttom is

HI ! I haven' t researched your car for you just yet !

I thought Id quickly mention the common method for reprogramming your alarm & remote, If you still require assistance then just ask me and I will find more about your car :)

Common Methods for resetting/re-learning code

  • Factory Fitted Alarms/ Central Locking / remote comes on ignition key.

Insert ignition key , turn key to accessories / red , press & hold lock/unlock for a few secs.remove key, exit vehicle and try un/lock doors &/or alarm (Some models differ slightly & require engine on or manual use of door locks whilst resetting.

  • Aftermarket /Non-Factory / remote is separately operated
Most use a small back-up battery usually located within the loudspeaker/Alarm unit itself under the bonnet,
Remove this battery for a short period to reset the remote code

The access panel for the backup battery is never in an obvious place. look carefully :)
