My Traction Control warning light and my Transmission Fluid Hot warning light came on.My fluid levels are fine and my car is not running hot. I recently installed a new air filter. Could the new air filter not allow enough air intake to cool the transmission fluid?
Stop using it & have the transmission temp issue
checked out
Ever change the trans fluid since it was new?
Doing it now won't help if debris froze up a valve
or temp switch in the valve body or the valve body
is worn or that model has issues that need to be updated
The valves wear into the valve body then they don't allow the fluid to go to the cooler & the trans overheats & the switch brings on your over temp light You may have little or no cooler flow so STOP using it

This happened to my 2001 Regal... There is a factory recall on the Catalytic Converter going bad. I had mine replaced with the recall and haven't had a problem since

The traction control system is controlled through the Anti-lock brake system. The way it works is if one of your wheels starts spinning the ABS applys the brake to that wheel to transfer power to the oppsite wheel that is getting traction. If your ABS is bad then your Traction control won't work. To check it I would find a parking lot on a wet day. In an open space mash in the gas. if you hear the ABS system kick in and you don't squall the tires then your good. My guess is you won't. What I would be worried about is will my ABS work. When checking the traction control is a good time to check the ABS. Acclerate to around 15 mph, then mash the brake as your live depended on it. If you hear a motor run and feel a vibration or grind in the brake peddal, then it works.

Try unplugging the electrical connection on the transmission to lock it in 3rd. It might get you moving. Although the transmission is going to need rebuilt or replaced.
