GM with Hummer has a recall pending on that exact thing due to possibility of a fire. Contact your dealership to see when they finalize the recall, right now they are still working on a part for the fix before they begin having anyone bring their H3 in to be fixed.

How to replace pigtail connector on blower motor for a 1998 chevy malibu

You have to cut the wires and solder, or use butt-connectors, to hook up the new one. I also recommend replacing the blower motor resistor. Having enough current to damage the connector has put a lot of strain on it also. It is also in the same area as the blower motor.

I had my blower checked in my 2002 bonneville they said it was fine but there was a pigtail wire that connects to the back of it that was burned up,what is this wire and can it be replaced quick and cheap.

That's your resistor that's burned up under the connector. Get a new one and ask if they have the pigtail to go with it. You must have had an untrained mechanic.

1996 astro chevy van heater use to work on low and med but wont work at all now.

The blower resistor has gone bad which is why you lost blower speeds. This may have been caused by the blower motor drawing too much power. At this point I would verify that no fuses burned out and then check the pigtail plugs going to the resistor and blower motor to make sure the connectors and connections are not melted or wiring is frayed. These connectors are located in the engine compartment on the passenger side. After checking this and if everything appears ok then the blower motor itself has probably gone bad and needs replaced. I would also replace the blower motor resistor as well. If the connectors appear damaged replace or repair as needed .

My heater stopped working, one day a smell & some smoke came out of the vent... I bought a new resistor & its not fixing it> whats next?

Check the pigtail to the resistor and the pigtail connector to the blower motor.Look for burnt wires or melted connection. The blower motor itself may be bad. You can try wiggling the connectors to see if it comes on or tapping on the blower motor. If it comes on doing either the connection is most likely very poor and needs repaired. You can also check fuses just to make sure when whatever burned out it did not blow the fuse.

I have 06 trailblazer, on the a/c i replaced the air blower resistor and keeps burning on the blackwire from the resitors pigtail connection. Should I replace the resistor and connection, or is their a...

{: ) Try first to repair the terminal connectors to achieve a tight connection and contact. Check also the integrity of the black wire which is supposed to be the ground wire. Its a better option if you replace also the resistor along with connector.

Blower not turning to push air and heat through vents, Replaced blower motor, still not working. How do you get to the dash wiring to check electrical connections. fuse is good.

Replace the Blower Resistor. (About $12).

The resistor might be good; I have found that the terminals corrode, create resistance and sometimes melt the connector (About $100). Check the resistor before replacing it! If the connector gets fried, solder pigtails onto the good resistor and use Marr connectors to attach the pigtails to the existing wires,

Heater fan only works on high

The blower resistor needs to be replaced. The blower motor resistor is located in the passenger foot well, it is mounted inside the heater case near the firewall and the blower motor. This is an extremely common problem with these vehicles, and the problem is in the wiring connector that goes to the resistor module. The blower motor draws current through the resistor pack at an excessive rate and causes the wiring terminals at the resistor pack to melt and loose connection. The most effective and permanent fix to this problem is to replace the connector end, the blower motor, AND the blower motor resistor. You can usually get away with just repairing the wiring at the resistor module, however it is extremely likely that the problem will repeat itself in the future. The connector ends are available at your local GM dealership, are relatively inexpensive, and they come in a package that contains the connector pigtail and heat-shrink **** connectors, however to maximize model coverage they manufacture the pigtail so that all of the wires are white. This means that your wire colors will not match up, and you will need to snip and crimp each wire separately as to avoid confusing their positions in the connector and accidentally wiring the resistor pack incorrectly. Inspect the resistor module for melted terminals as well, usually the module needs to be replaced because of melting damage. Should you choose NOT to replace the blower motor, the system will likely work in all speeds after repairing the connector, but you are taking your own risk towards the problem happening again. Good luck
