How can I reset the anti theft system
There is no way to reset the "Anti-Theft" system. Hopefully you have more than one ignition key. Slide one key into the ignition cylinder and try to start the engine. If nothing, try the same thing with the other key. There is a transponder inside each key and the exciter ring will send a signal to the key. If the signal that it receives is not valid, then the Anti-Theft system will tell the ECU not to allow the car to be started. What is the security light doing while you try to start the engine? Did this problem happen out of the blue? Was a repair performed on the ignition switch? Are there any other symptoms? Please write back and let me know, good luck.

With the drivers window down and all the doors closed and the hood open diconnect the battery. reach in and turn the key to run. Connect the battery without skipping around and the dash lights should come on. turn the key off and enter the car and start it as normal.

Welcome to Fixya
Turn the key to off position, then turn all the way to ON postion without starting the engine and let it sit like that for 10 min. This will reset the anti theft program in the cars computer. After 10 min turn the key to the off position and then try to start the car.
