Have you checked whether your coils are working,if the spark if is coming at all is the expected for the spark plugs? Have you checked whether your spark plugs are good,or are black covered with unburned fuel an a lot of carbon? Also check whether you do have coming out from the fuel injectors,if the pressure of the injectors is the correct one . This should be carried out by using a fuel pressure tester. If can not do it please ask a qualified mechanic to help.

SOURCE: 2003 vw jetta tdi fuel filter

It is on the passenger side right behind the washer fluid fill tube. You can follow the fuel lines (look like 1/4" black tubes, some are clear) from the injector pump to it. It is a caniser a bit bigger than a normal looking oil filter and sits between the washer bottle and the metal that forms the wheel well. It is held in by a screw type clamp about half way down the cylinder. Probably isn't the fuel filter unless there is air in the lines to the injector pump or they didn't bother to fill the fuel filter up with diesel after putting it in. There is not a fuel pump in the tank in these cars so everything is sucked up by the injector pump and it needs to be primed properly.

SOURCE: Engine stalls while driving. Fuel deprivation?

I am having the exact same problem with my VW Touareg @60,000 miles. Two weeks ago and again today it sputters and stalls shortly after starting. I brought it into the shop and they could not reproduce the problem and said it was fine. Also, they had no ideas when I describes the problem. Anyone know what it going on? I am out of warranty.

My 1998 ford expedition acts like it is not getting enough fuel. replaced the fuel filter and it solved the problem for a little while. Now its doing the same thing again.

You most likely have a fuel pump going out,the fuel filter replacement was a little late,it put strain on the fuel pump, and it has took it`s toll on the fuel pump,,I have seen it a lot,if this was helpful,at all, please rate, thank you,and have the fuel pump pressure checked.

My 99 ford explorer cuts out and dies when accelerating in drive

You may have dirty or clogged fuel injectors, may also be problems with the ignition system. Might also check the fuel pressure to make sure the fuel pump is working correctly.

Replaced fuel pump, and it starts now but runs

I would next check the fuel pressure regulator if the pump was not pumping, or the filter was plugged some of the leftover waste in the lines from one or the other of these issues may have plugged the regulator causing inconsistent fuel pressure that would cause the engine to run rough, or possibley cut out fuel entirely, causing the vehicle to die

Shaking 1992 Ford Explore

Sounds alot like a fuel delivery issue. I would first replace your fuel filter, make sure your gas isnt bad. Make sure your fuel pump isnt starting to fail. air leaks in the fuel lines. and then move too the fuel injection pump.
