it's possible the gasket could be sticking. give a few taps with a hammer just dont go crazy on it, i think it's aluminum. hit it on a well reinforced part, or use a block of wood to spread out the blow.
SOURCE: have a 2003 chevy trailblazer: battery went dead
common problems when battery died over night usually cause by someone left a light on, it can be the door is not being close completely to over head/map light and not knowing it. have the alternator check, any auto parts store can test it for you. to see if it working properly. next is to check the battery cells to see if its good and maintain its charge, auto parts store can also test it for you. a bad cell will also cause the battery not to hold or retained its charges. get a jump from a friend and see if your car will start. if its does than it will be your battery.
SOURCE: replace low beam headlight on 2003 chevy trailblazer
I just replaced the low-beam bulb on my 2003 Chevy Trailblazer. The grill just needs to be loosed slightly. Then, raise two L shaped brackets, one on each side. For the inside one, I needed to use a flathead screwdriver to get to it. The light assembly can then be pulled out. Remove the rubber cover and rotate the bulb one quarter turn left to release it. Pull out the bulb, replace with a new one ($11.50) from Advance Auto Parts, and reverse the process. Once I figured it out, took about 10 minutes total.
