I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 2000 WRANGLER. IT TURNS OUT THAT SNOW HAD BECOME PACKED AROUND THE TRANS MISSION AND THEN FROZE. I PARKED IT IN THE GARAGE WITHE A COUPLE OF HEATERS TO MELT THE ICE. I KNOW ITS MAY NOW BUT ARE YOU STILL HAVING THIS PROBLEM?

SOURCE: Jeep Acts Like Out of Gas- HELP!

it sounds like the engine isnt getting enough fuel. I would suggest changing the fuel filter and possibly testing the fuel pump to see if it is bad.

SOURCE: Rough idle until warm

HMM, ya ont get a code unless ya figure out how to read the morse code values the OB1's use. Hmm sputters, and rough idle can be from poor air circulation, as well fuel delivery.

first air.......inspect and clean your vacuum hoses, cracks and leaks will most notably ruin your day. as well as the performance of your ride. check the seal for your intake hose around the throttle body, then clean the ports in and around your throttle body as well. Bad air supply, poor idle.. follow me..

second is fuel delivery. Your getting your gas, thats evident, but are you getting the required amount. hard to guage unless you disconnect a line and test its pressure. so lets USE the KISS method.. KEEPING IT SIMPLE STUPID

first, check and or replace your fuel pressure regulator...

second, inspect condition of your fuel filter.

thrid, and certianly the last thing, your fuel pump. go in that order. or your gonna seriously annoy yourself when a 5 dollar fix turns into a 3-400 dollar fix.

SOURCE: 1998 Jeep Cherokee - hard to start

My 98 Cherokee was the exact same. I used to have to turn the key back and forth 3 times and then it would start. Otherwise it would just crank and crank for a while and then start. Pretty embarrassing! Took it to the dealer and they said that my fuel pump was losing pressure. I changed the fuel pump and I don't have to prime the pump anymore.

I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and it just today started shaking pretty bad as soon as it was put in drive. I took it in and it read a fuel injector issue so i bought cleaner. When its in park...

Its possible the miss is still there in park but not as noticeable. The problem is worse in drive because of the load on the engine.
It could be one injector that has worn out, the magnet that opens the injector valve can get weak. It could be gummed up and the cleaner may help, but you may have to replace one of the injectors at the end.

Call him up, it sounds like that head is going to have to come off again. You definitely have a serious problem at # 7. Maybe a valve keeper that wasn't all the way in or possibly a bad lifter. Either way, don't drive it until it's fixed, it'll just make it worse.

Rough idle driving code 27,and 55 hesitate, loss off power lot of virabation,

code 27 is a fuel injector problem. The best way to check them is to start the jeep and take the injector wires off the injectors on at a time. If you pull the wires off the injector while its running it should make it run worse. if it does put the wires back on that one is not the problem then move onto the next. If you get one or two that don't make the engine run worse when you pull the wires off that is the one that is bad. Should only be one. oh and code 55 just means end of codes so don't worry about that one.
