SOURCE: my bmw 528I WON'T START AND WON'T JUMP START

Hi Lisa!
This possibly is a immobilizer fault and I would be looking at the Fob/Zapper. The way the immobilizer works is to disable the starter and ignition system.
These fobs have batteries so try replacing them, if you still have the same grief it may need re-coding.
Phone or pop into your local BMW dealer with the Log book/title and ask for their assistance, It shouldn't be expensive unless the vehicle needs to towed/trailered but I'm sure a Girley smile should persuade someone to visit you at home to code the fob to the car.
Hope this FixYa's problem!

SOURCE: i have a 2005 bmw

The most common causes are:
1) Something bouncing around on the passenger seat confusing the occupancy sensor. 2) Someone jambing the seat belt buckle together at an odd angle. The older e36s were notoriously sensitive to that. 3) Someone has been working on the seats or the doors and turned the key on while something was unplugged. 4) Something is actually wrong in the system (rare).
The normal response is to read the code, reset the SRS system, and see if the light returns. Usually, it won't.
The bad news is that BMW changed their SRS system in the 2004 model year, and the aftermarket scanners won't reset a 2005. The dealer may gouge you to reset the light. A well-equipped independent shop can do it.
When I foolishly turned on the key to test my work on a window regulator on the wife's 2004 330, the BMW dealer wanted $180 to reset the SRS light. My favorite independent mechanic reset it for free. I took him a box of pastries from my favorite bakery.

2015 Territory, for 6 months, if headlights turned on in day, dash lights usually dim, centre panel unreadable, sometimes will not dim except at night. When new, latter was norm, but now as above.

This is a different model in the States. If this has a display for the Navigation there are controls to set for brightness and auto adjustment for day and night. These controls are reached within the programming of the Navigation screen and independent of the dash lights switch.

You are probably zoned out of making adjustments when the screen is dark. So you will need to tinker with this when you can see the screen better.

On our vehicles the headlight dimmer switch only controls the dash lights. Could be you had this vehicle serviced. Sometimes when an OIL CHANGE is done the service technician wants to reset the oil interval and goofs up some other settings in the process. Think about when the problem started and if someone else had their hands on your vehicle.

2002 mazda tribute, when I switch on the igition to start position the starter will not turn over and yes the battery cables are clean and tight. all the lights work and dash panle lights up as well, but...

Hi, if there is no clicking at all, the problem is usually the safety interlock or the starter relay. First, check the 40 amp crank/start fuse to make sure the power is available. Then try starting in neutral or put your foot on the brake and shift thru the gears while holding the key to start. If the interlock is maladjusted, the engine should crank. If this doesn't work, pull out the styarter relay and probe the relay socket with a 12 volt test light. Connect the test light clip to engine ground and probe the socket. There should be one hot terminal with the ignition off (from the start/crank fuse) and 2 hot terminals with the key turned to start (from ignition switch). Next, move the test light clip to battery positive and probe the socket again. With the key turned to start, there should be one terminal that lights the light brightly (interlock signal) and one that lights it dimly (starter solenoid). The outcome of these tests will point to the problem. Please let me know the outcome of these tests if you have not solved the problem by the point of finishing them.

I have a 2006 Mitsubishi Grandis. Something weird is going on. The alarm doesn't activate/deactivate. When I turn on the ignition key to accessory, nothing happens. The internal lights do not work. ...

It may start the engine fine, meaning it has a good ground, BUT, the ground from battery to the body is NOT. Make sure that connection is good and clean.

Will not start. no dash lights. battery is

Start with a cheaper solution, try cleaning up as many grounds on the vehicle that you can find, good possibility that your problem is just a bad ground somewhere. Check condition of ground strap that goes from the engine to the frame of the car, on my 94 cav it is bolted to a stud at the engine to transmission mount bolts and goes to the frame.

Have a 2000 Venture van..at night when i start

You have a light sensor that automatically turns on your lights when it is dark enough. This is not your daytime running lights. It also turns on the dash & tail lights. This is why they do not get brighter when you turn the switch on, they are already on. If they do not seem to be bright enough, you may need to adjust the headlight aim.

I HAD SAME PROBLEM SOLVER OF MY MOMS 1996 CAMRY ABOUT HORN GOING OFF AND CAR WOULDN'T CRANK. JUMPED IT OFF AFTER A FEWW FRANTIC MOMENTS OF HORN HONKING-- FOUND OU IT WAS AN ALARM THING AND YOU CAN SHUT IT OFF BY TURNING IGNITION KEY TO ON POSITION AND MOVING TOGGLE SWITCH AT DRIVER KICK PANEL TO OVERIDE THE HONKING HORN PROBLEM--STILL NOT SURE WHAT CAUSED IT TO DO THIS AT BEGINNING. BATTERY WAS FULLY CHARGED AND HEADLIGHTS REAL BRIGHT TOO. COULD HAVE BEEN A DOORLOCK MANUAL MALFUNCTION--BEEN OK FOR A WEEK NOW.
