Typically you will find the heater core sits inside the dash just inside the fire wall of the engine compartment, from the engine bay you can follow the water lines from the cooling system and water pump that go back to the fire wall and through to the heater core, find those to hoses together and the heater core is on the other side under the dash, usually under passenger side under dash behind the heater box, they are usually labor intensive to pull, and some require pulling the dash partly off etc.

Is it water from outside leaking in, or engine coolant from a bad heater core? If it's antifreeze, you'll likely need a new heater core. Hopefully, your '98 wont need the dash removed to change heater cores like on a lot of older models-time-consuming tedious job.

The Heater Core is usually accessible on the Passenger side under the dash. There should be same access panels you will need to remove to get to the Heater Core.

You really don't want to tackle a job like this unless you were getting paid.Even mechanics dread pulling this job.
Very first thing is unhook battery so you don't blow an air bag,
You need to remove bolts holding steering column up,let it drop and lay on seat.Then you disconnect both wire harnesses from both sides,Then you remove all dash brackets,And remove entire dash from vehicle,Now you can see the heater and a/c housing,Now you can unhook the heater hoses under hood,remove and recover freon from a/c system,And now your ready to remove all housing bolts,Then you remove all that and flip over to get to heater core!
With all the correct tools needed and recharging the a/c,it will be about an 8 hr job.

you either remove it from under your glove box or under the hood the first is more common

this is real easy -- the heater core is under the passenger side of the dash --- should be able to replace without removing the dash -- might have to remove part of the glove box

hi sounds like heater core problem.if you remove the panel that comes from under the dash to the gear shift you will see the heater box in front ,now remove the bottom of that box you should see the heater radiatior.now comes the harder part from under the car at the back engine on the bulkhead two pipes goin into the bulkhead .take these pipes off and the clip so that you can remove the small radiator out of the heater box to replace.
