Fix the radiator first.because coolant temperature sensor need to be in antifreeze.when antifreeze get up to 190 degrees. the coolant sensor act as a thermostat.it resistance decrease then the pcm will command cooling fans to run.if antifreeze low the coolant temperature sensor not going to work. engine is going to over heat.

My 2000 Chrysler LHS is overheating everytime i drive it..i need to replace the thermostat..but how do i go about that? and where is it located? i lost my owners manual

It isn't necessarily the thermostat that is bad. When the thermostat goes bad, it usually gets stuck in the open position, because it never closes, and it won't effect the cooling of the engine. Or should I sat the overheating of an engine. Your thermo is located on the engine at the end of the top hose, a dome shaped fitting, it is in there, but,, the overheating could be something else. Check the top of your radiator for oil floating on there, check to see if there is steam coming out the exhaust, keep an eye on the water level, check the coolant, and don't run it if it gets hot. A compression check will tell exactly what is going on in there, if it is a head gasket, usually what happens when a car starts to overheat. Hope this helps.

1997 Chrysler LHS is overheating

If when you replaced coolant you noticed taht it fills slowly, the radiator could be internally blocked. Usually it can be flushed or if really bad, replace it. Also have the radiator checked for hydrocarbons...any in there tells you that there is a head gasket problem.

My car runs hot and leaks antifreeze

if it's coming from the radiator cap your car is overheating, two things could be wrong
#1 thermostat is stack and is not circulating or
#2 that your actuator switch is not engaging the
fan

97 chrysler lhs overheats

Head gaskets don't cause overheating Usually they are a result of overheating. If the headgasket is bad one wil get leaking into the cylinders of coolant, which wil show up as milky oil.Like some one else stated ; have the radiator rodded out,(cleaned and fluashed).

Replaced cracked radiator in 2000 Chrysler LHS but car still overheating. What could be the problem?

I had the same problem. My Chrysler LHS kept overheating. I had the thermostat changed out first and it didn't help. Then I had the water pump changed out and still did no good. Then changed out the radiator, still overheated. Come to find out the people that changed my thermostat put it in backwards. Evidently, the thermostats for these cars look different from all the others and people are not sure how to put them in. I took mine to a Chrysler dealer and they fixed it for me.

Replacing headlamp on 2000 lhs how to

There are two bolts that hold the assembly in place to the radiator support. Pull these (they're long bolts) and the lamp forward. That's all there is to it. I own an Intrepid and these cars are very similar.
