AC is Air conditioning and uses the condenser and is not typically used to heat your car.
It sounds like you need a recharge of your refrigerant, and perhaps a new condenser or compressor.
Testimonial: "Hi, so i changed the blower motor sine after alot of diagnosis found a fautu fuse and motor, replaced them and air is coming out :D. Yes the ac gas needs to be replaced but know i hve another problem the motor is ony switching on the highest setting only "4" on "1-3 setting" fan and motor do not start up. What could be the problem????"
SOURCE: i need help!!! 94 accord
well my 94 just blew a belt and they all seem to run on the same main pully. As i just learned these belts need replacing, especially the timing belt. its only good for 70000 miles. If its beyond that and the timing belt gets strecthed even a 1/4 inch it can throw off the timing and much more and make your car turn pretty gutless. If the timing belt brakes, there is a good chance it can permanetly damage the engine valves. If the timing belt is weak, it may affect idle when the ac needs to be turned as well?
SOURCE: Intermittent AC and Heat w/ long gaps of hot(for AC) or cold(for heat) air
I had similar problem on my 2001 Insight. Had to replace some cooling system hoses eaten by rodents... Works like a champ again.
SOURCE: AC was blowing cold. Now only warm air comes out.
May just need to be recharged, if r34 is too low, ac will not kick in, Wal-mart sells recharge kits and cans of r34 (insctructions are on kit)...expect to pay around $50 total if you do it yourself. If that doesn't work you may have to replace the AC compressor.
