All the windows are not working, there is no sound no movement nothing!

  • nscheidl May 25, 2009

I checked fuses all are good, where is the relay? I'm trying to avoid taking it to my garage, I'm hoping I can fix myself!

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

The most likely culprit is a blown fuse.Have you checked the fuses?
Next would be the power window relay.

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

From all switches, or just the drivers side?

Look in your owners manual for the underhood fuse box. There are some models which have several sets of fuses. Also check your window lockout button which should be on the drivers door or center console. This is a safety feature to keep kids from playing with the windows.
It is not impossible to lose 2 motors at once, because I've done that, but 4 window motors at once is a stretch. Hope this helps.

Buy a 12 volt test light under $20.00. If you already have one its even better. attach the allagator clamp to ground ( metal part of car) close to your interior fuse box. with the key in the on position touch pointed side of light on the small metal area of fuse it should lite the light on both sides of the fuse in fuse box. If you test a fuse and it only has power on one side that fuse is bad and needs to be replaced. make sure you replace it with a fuse of the same value. Since I am not their to check I think the circut breaker you replaced may not be the circut powering the windows

Only front passenger power window won't work. It is not the motor nor the master (drivers side) switch. With only one window inop could it even be a relay or fuse?

Yes it could. Some cars have a fuse for each window. Check your fuse boxes ( diagrams of what fuse powers which circut should be on the back of the fuse box cover) to see if that is the case. Replace fuse if appropriate.

All 4 of my power windows stopped working, and i can't find anything about a power window fuse in my manual

Power window usually don't have a fuse but an automatically resetting breaker. If all four windows stopped working at the same time check the body control module that is what manages the power windows. Good luck.

Power windows stopped working

If the power to the illumination and the switches is out in the door, I would say it is a broken wire in the A-pillar to the door on the driver's side.

This is a Light Blue w/ Black stripe wire, it powers both the illumination and the windows themselves.

If not, check the motor wires (Windows Diagrams 8W 60-1) in your Jeep WJ Repair Manual (this is in spanish, but the diagrams are easy to read).

Need to replace fuse for the power windows... do not know which fuse port is for the power windows and I have no manual to assist me... does anyone know which fuse port holds the fuse to the power windows...

the power windows are controlled through the Body Control Module. this module controls the windows through a circuit breaker under the hood in the relay and fuse box located near the master cylinder, it is
Position #62 30A CB Power windows circuit breaker, I really doubt this is the problem, but check it, if u have a short circuit the circuit breaker will be hot to the touch.

double check the fuses, etc first to see if anything blew. there should be circut breakers to check as well (consult your manual). have someone look at your wiring to make sure it hasn't corroded inside the doors.
