When i turn the ignition it wont make a sound unless it is hooked up by jumpers than the motor wants to turn over but wont, as soon as i take the jumpers off no power any ware?????
A bad battery can **** up all the juice. You could try disconnecting the battery and putting a charger on it for 24 hours, it might come back. If it does then you need to figure out why it went dead. There maybe something wrong with your belt and/ or alternator. A bad battery can **** up all the juice. I'm currently dealing with the same thing. I have come up with the Passkey system being faulty and possibly overriding it with a bypass kit. I'm still searching for more info but thought I would shoot that at you for some insight.
The short answer is no. The PCM would not control the starter. I would look for more fuses or fuseable link wires. There should be more than one major fused circuit. If the key switch was on when you connected the jumper cables anything that was "on" would have been cooked, including the ignition switch. is the battery good enough to crank the engine ?
Check all your fuses..It maybe just your fuse for the ignition...which in fact turns your starter over.... And yes your starter is good, if it tries to crank when you jump it..Now if your fuses are good, then yea your problem mat be the ignition switch itself....But check all your fuses first...Goodluck...
sounds like you have an ignition problem, check the ignition fuse under the hood sounds like the fuse is blown, if that dosent work check your starter solinoid
Hello, I take it you twist the key to start and nothing? I repaired my Postmans Vw with the same problem. Firstly it is common and the dealer way of solving is to replace the whole ignition barrel. However I went to Maplins bought a 10 amp push to make flush fitting switch and grafted it into the wire from the ignition switch that goes to the one You use to hot wire the starter you can fuse it too to be safe. Now he has a Vw that looks like the New Bmw Mini for push button starting.
There You Go! Problem solved.
