The car won't start and the alarm keeps sounding. What should I do?

I locked the car with the button. Then, I unlocked the car with the key. The alarm began sounding and would not quit. After about 5 minutes, the alarm stopped. Now, my car won't start.

then try this... turn the key to the lock position and hold it for about 5 seconds... then let sit for a minute and then try to unlock the door... do this on the drivers side only. If this doesn't help you need to seek help because we don't know if it's an factory set up or a dealer installed item or someone installed it in their driveway

SOURCE: how to deactivitate stock car alarm

YOU need to locate the RESET alarm button. They are in different places but the most common are UNDER the steering wheel column, glove box, drver side kick panels or in the middle console someitme hiddedn. The button is small and not sure if your alarm is factory or after market.
>HOLD the BUTTON in while the key is in the off postion
>TURN the key to ACC while holding the button.( this should reset it)
>or put he key in ACC1st then hold down the button for a about 5sec.
>or your car manual will have the instructions

SOURCE: First: alarm went off on its own.(mazda 6 2003).

there is often a small back up battery in the immobiliser unit itself, if you can locate this unit and replace the battery with the ignition on / engine running, then it should not need recoding and work fine after that. The other thing that could be wrong is the key battery (if the fob has one) or the transponder chip in the key head. If the key signal is low the immobiliser lamp will light during driving, but this does not explain the alarm going off. That is more likely either a poor vehicle battery, alarm / immobiliser back up battery, or another electrical fault such as water leakage into a tail-light or even the alarm unit itself when it rains. A lot of alarms are voltage sensing and when the vehicle is parked they will alarm if the battery voltage changes for any reason, though not during driving so the battery in the immob is my first choice to look at.

Start Kia sportage with no alarm button

Usually if you use the key in the door lock to lock unlock the door it will disarm the security system on the car, when you unlock the door it has to be the drivers door, lock the door then unlock the door and hold the key in the unlock position for 2 seconds

Alarm won't turn off

the valet key doesnt have a transponder chip in it, so it will allow physical turning of keyways and operations, but will not disable the alarm and often wont disable the immobilizer.

sorry to say i think you will need to get an autolocksmith , or main dealer to get you a functioning key with transponder chip mapped to your cars rfid system that will allow alarm to be enabled /disabled

When we use our key fob to lock the doors, i know we must use the key fob to unlock the doors to avoid the alarm from going off. Recently I parked in a parking garage at an airport (left key fob at home)...

You should be able to just unlock the door with the key, and even if the alarm is still going of try to start it the key should override the alarm.
