spark timing way off. or burned valves.
i dont think a 4L can change cam timing. (gears)
that is gross misfire,
so bad it backfires to the throttle body and air cleaner
in all cases is bad spark timing, or worse burned valves.
bad rotor & cap,?
doing a tune up get rid of that carbon tracked bad cap.
and timing magically works.

First of all have a look and find which side the tires are loose, is it vertically loose or horizontally loose, by the way you can do it by jacking the car and shaking the tire with both hands, vertically and horizontally. they should not have free play at all.
if it shakes over 50 miles per hour, it could be your front tires need balancing. and check your ball joints while you are at it. or king pins if it has that. (they are different from ball joints but serve the same purpose.)
The front end of the vehicle has several parts that cause the front end to shake. Have you had the front end checked for bad tie rod ends, That is the most common problem.Another thing when does it shake? If it shakes while applying the brakes it could be the rotors need to be turned or it could be both the tie rod ends or the rotors.
Could be a number of things from ball joints to your pitman arm(arm that steers the tires). It dont sound like tire are way out of balance because yu said it only starts when you hit a bump. If it was me, Id crawl under the front end and start shaking different parts until I figured out what was loose. if its shaking that bad you should definitly be able to tell when you shake it.
Good excuse! You need to find a shop that does alignments and have special attention to caster. However, did the shake happen from when you first got it or did it develop over time? Check all front components for wear (by all I mean all) especially ball joints and steering damper (the sideways shock on the linkage) All can cause this condition.
Could be worn wheel bearings...u joints...rear end.....rear axle bearings....in corners? High speed/low speed? Acceleration...braking....
