The 2006 Pontiac Vibe will have a little bit different amount of transmission fluid needed depending on whether or not it has All-Wheel-Drive. With AWD it will need 3.1 quarts (2.9 liters). Without AWD it needs 3.2 quarts (3.0 liters).

Remove the water pump assembly to the timing chain housing bolts (2).

The drive belt tensioner must be unloaded and the drive belt removed

Sometimes the emission light will come on if the gasket on the gas cap is worn or dirty, thus not sealing properly. If it doesn't look worn, then try cleaning it.
