1999 oldsmobile silhouette wont start by igition but self started

It is a known issue. Lots of ideas, mine is a to call out an auto-electrician with a pro-grade scan tool computer. When the battery is disconnected, and the key is in the ignition and the doors are closed, the horn shouldn't go off. Make sure you leave the windows open in case it self locks. After that, you need to do a security reset. There are 3 ways here.

Is it possible that the panic button is stuck on the Remote?

Flat battery .. replace it an it will be fine

I have a 94 Kia sephia and had the same issue try unplugging the timing control box located above the fuse box my car runs perfect and doesn't try and make me look like I'm stealing it anymore. Sincerly Alex.

I believe its fuse number 14. i may be wrong about the number, but its the 10a fuse that sits higher in the fuse pannel than the rest of the fuses. Replace it and everything will work anf your horn wont honk when you start it anymore.

hook it up and wait a min or 2 for it to stop or disarm the alarm after but i think it will stop after 1 or 2 mins

The horn itself is dead , that funny noise was it's last breath. You can get a horn from an auto wrecker for just about nothing. It does not necesarilly have to be from the same vehicle , as long as it fits.

Inertia swich maybe?????? I hit a pot hole with my car and shut off just had to posh the inertia button in trunk.

hi take the wires off the horn and using a set of jump leads from the battery conet the jump leads onto the horn and see if it works then, if not horn faulty, if works blown fuse or a broken wire regards
