I have a 2002 LEXUS IS300 that I need to find out how to remove the cover on the interior map light.

check for a bad ground connection

did u change the light bulbs or the lamp?

The lens should seperate from the housing. The entire lamp, assembly stays in the roof and only the lens is supposed to pop off for bulb replacement

Only one light inside light works on my Lexus SC430 and I have been told that I have to replace the whole part which is about $700 because it is computerized. Is this true

• To change your map light follow these steps.

1. On the switch side of the light you just take a Flathead screwdriver and gently pry off that clear cover.
2. Then pry the bulb out.
3. Replace with bulb # DE3175
4. Pop the cover back into place. Job complete.

If you're talking about the map lights (2 lights in between driver and passenger)

If you have just the map lights, just pull the whole assembly out. Don't worry about anything breaking, just pull it down, just not at an angle or anything. It easily snaps back into place after. Bulbs can be removed once you have it out.

If you have an overhead console, you remove a screw towards the front of the overhead console Then just pull. If you're talking about other interior lights, let me know I'll let you know how to remove it.

back of light there is two bulbs they just twist out

I think you should buy repair manual first for your vehicle after that you can easily repair your car by yourself. Check the link may be you will get something useful here

The tall center light is located behind the upper hatch inside panel. There are two panels need to remove. One panel is on the right, the other on the left. To remove the panels you have to use flat screw driver to pry out the panel in several locations. (These panels are secured by several small metal clips.) Be careful to collect all these clips and replace them on the back of the panel. You will need these clips to replace the panel later on. After remove the panels, you will be able to locate the screws on the tall center stop light assembly. Remove those screws and cover. After replacing light bulb. Assemble everything in reverse order. Remember, the metal clips have to set on the back of the two panels not the car body.

The cover should pry out with a small flat tip screw driver.
