Location of thermostat 1998 celica - 1993 Toyota Celica

When you replaced the spark plug leads, you mixed them all up. Also make sure the rotor in the distributor is properly located.

cant find location of the immobiliser but have included two links that may help, the first will show you what it looks like , it is most likely buried in the dash somewhere,the 2nd is the owners manual in case you have'nt got one,hope this helps in some way

follow to radiator hose to where it attaches to the block this should be the thermostat housing

The Thermostat is located under the right side of the Alternator. Nearly impossible to get to the bolts however. And you'll need a star type tool to RE-INSERT the bolts when they do come out with the Thermostat housing. Tricky, slow work, but doable. A garage mechanic would most likely remove the Alternator to get to it easier. But with the serpentine belt, not something a driveway mechanic may want to tackle!

go to www.autozone.com and look in the compounts list for that year car and it will tell you excatly wher it is located.

Cooling Thermostat.
Look along the radiator hose where it enters the engine. This controls the water temperature.


Toyota Celica Thermal Fan Switch The Toyota Celica thermal radiator fan switch is usually located in the radiator or the engine block and has 2 or 3 wires coming from the unit. The 3 wire switch has a dual sensor for dual speed radiator fans. The Toyota Celica thermo fan switches come in the factory temperature settings and also come in cooler thermostatic settings so the fan will come on at a lower coolant temp.

The Toyota Celica cooling system is made of aluminum components and requires a Phosphate free coolant. DO NOT PUT an over the counter antifreeze in your Toyota Celica, as it will ruin the radiator and water pump.

you didnt do anything wrong it was the companys mistakke so you should return the thermostat and get your money back

there is another thermostat in the car, the one that controls the air conditioning.
i am presuming you are talking about the engine thermostat right? so here it is .

trace the hose that came from the top portion of your radiator. at the end of the hose is an aluminum manifold where the temperature sending units are located. if you remove this manifold, you can see your thermostat laying on top. it is supposed to control the flow of water from the engine to your radiator. replace it and in putting it back, i suggest you have a sealant ready for the right function. a water resistant and temperature resistant sealant that could be use in water manifolds in the engine.
