This is the delay feature of your vehicle.
Your car's Auto Headlight functionality offers both convenience and safety. The exit delay programmed in means that the lights will stay on after you turn off the engine for a set period of time. You can change how long they stay on to fit your needs. Here's how to do that:
Make sure the headlight switch is in the Auto position.
Make sure the key is set to OFF.
Turn the headlight switch off.
Turn the switch back to ON, then OFF again.
Turn the switch back to the Auto position.
Make sure the lights come on.
Wait for the amount of time you want the headlights to stay on, then turn the switch back to OFF once more.
The headlight delay should now be programmed.
Tips
The maximum delay you can set is three minutes.
You can set the system to have no delay by not waiting to turn the switch back to OFF the final time.
If you turn car off and remove key from ignition, th? headlights will stay on until you open the driver side door, its part of an auto on headlight system. you can leave your selector light switch on the headlight position or on the daylight lamp relay (DRL) position. and open the driver side door and the lights will go out and not stay on. so it saves running your battery down. That feature is only on SLE trim line on the Solara.
Not a Corvette expert, but I don't think sunlight would have any effect. The motors should close the doors when you turn the lights off regardless if it is dark or not. Are the headlights staying on, or just the doors staying up ? The up position is the default when something is wrong, so I think it takes voltage to close them.
Sounds like you have a problem in your headlight switch. As far as them staying on sometimes when you shut the car off are you referring to daytime running lamps or the regular headlights? If it's daytime running lamps that like to stay on and your headlights do not like to turn on then there could be a combination of headlight switch and daytime running lamp relay.
It is possible the relay gets the signal from the headlight switch as well, since they generally turn off when you turn your headlights on.
green light on dash is your high beam indicator i suspect the dimmer switch or headlight switch is the problem i would inspect the headlight switch first
