The gear on the end of the odometer cable probably has excessive wear which causes the odometer cable to spin. It is not completely worn out or it would not function at all; however, the fix is probably going to be the same as if it were broken; i.e., remove your present cable and replace with a new one.

Nissan D21 automatic wont move when running

Check the trans fluid level first with the engine running. If its low , top it up. Then go back and have them take care of the valve issue.

I got a 1995 nissan pu xe 4cyl. Transmission acting strange. You can drive it about a mile and it'll stop pulling but you can cut it off and restarted and drive another mile.Is this a sensor or strainer.

More than likely it's the filter clogging up with what used to be the clutches in the trans. Even if the filter is replaced you WILL have problems in the not too distant future. If you lived near me I'd say bring it by, don't run it into the ground it's cheaper and easier to rebuild it while it's still semi working than if you waited till it stops moving all together! Good luck

Most definetly yes. It should run you around 500 dollars. If you timing belt breaks it will destroy your valves and head.

You may have a bad wheel speed sensor. only with a scan tool that shows data will you be able to determine if its a sensor issue or computer or gauge issue

I am so sad, my 1988 240DL odometer just stopped working (along with the trip). It stopped somewhere near the 263,000 mile mark, and i'm sad cause i want to see how many miles it will have when it finally...

Unfortunately, there is no fix for your current odometer. Your car will continue to rack up miles, but there is no way to tell (sometimes you can with a digital odometer). What I can suggest is getting a new.used gauge cluster and track your mileage from there.

*Note..sometimes the pin (s) used on these can go and cause this issue..it can be repairable if you have the time, patience and money...on the downside, if you've driven the car since it broke, no way on getting those miles added on...the upside..a cheaper alternative is replacement (check ebay or car-part.com)

The odometer/milage counter stopped working.

You need to replace the VSS or vehicle speed sensor. Located on LH, lefthand rear of transmission.
