yes. sometimes not servicing the differential can cause the actuator to stick in position. either you can or cant put it in 4 wheel. you may have to replace the actuator and service the differential to cure this. hope this helps
there was a tsb on loss of 4x4 electrical
A flashing 4X4 lamp and/or a intermittent or loss of power windows, interior lights, rear wiper, or 4x4 system. the loss of 4x4 system was from a module.
Sometimes the solenoids will stick on the axle neither in 2 or 4 wheel drive, if this problem started when you weren't shifting between two and four wheel drive it is probably the push button switch cluster on your dash going bad
mounted to the tranfer case you will see what looks like a window motor. Round with wires coming out. This is the actuator motor for the four wheel drive. A lot of times if they are not used the brushes will stick in the motor and if they do the four wheel drive will not engage. Sometime you can tap on the motor and it will work. You also will have a fuse for the four wheel drive in your fuse panel. Good luck, hope this helped
sometimes you have to reverse for it to kick out of four wheel drive. Make sure you put the truck into neutral before you switch out of four wheel drive into two wheel drive. If that doesn't work, your transmission might be sticking.
The motor for the four wheel drive engagement on the transfer case is notorious for sticking, try pulling it out and then operating to see if it works.
