2005 Dodge grand caravan 3.8 liters. Saturday afternoon I was driving with the ac on and all of a sudden the van shuts down at a red light. I tried turning it on again and it went on 2 blocks later it shuts down again. I tried it again and turned on for like 3 minutes next stop it turned off again. I then decided to turn it on while pressing the gas pedal and it stays on only as I press the gas, once i release the gas pedal it shuts off. Any idea why, any suggestions?

U may have got some bad gas, also maybe vapor lock.

I tried the code process and all it says is Done, no codes come up. The check engine light is not on. It just seems weird. I turned on the van this morning and it stays on, drove it to the mechanic shop and dropped it off and it was fine. Im hoping the mechanic shop doesn't call me with an expensive estimate for the repair.

Cycle the key on and off 3 times leaving it on the 3rd the third time and a "P" code should appear on the odometer or if there are no codes it will read "done". Come back and post the code if any and maybe we can fix it.
have the system tested for trouble code, Kragen and Autozone do this for free, but it sounds like a problem in the idle speed control air bypass valve
