if the car has a fold down back seat fold it down and try to reach in the trunk there should be a safety pull to open it or if you can reach the keys you are done ! if it does not have a fold down seat the fastest and safest way is call a locksmith or AAA if you have the service you dont want to start using a coat hanger or a slimjim on that car you could break the plastic clips that hold the linkage rods in place in the door and do some damage to the car . hope this helps

SOURCE: keys lock in trunk alarm will not allow trunk switch to lock

The solution is to pull out the back seat to get into the trunk. There are two bolts holding the bottom part of back seat (bolts located between bottom and top sections). Then pull out bottom section of back seat and you see the hinge for the top section, remove the bolts and then you can lift up and access the trunk. It's not that hard.

Remove the back seat. Back seat has two parts, bottom section that you sit on and back section. In between the bottom and back sections there are two bolts, feel for them and then remove. Once removed the bottom section can be pulled out. Then you can see the hinge at the bottom of the back section, remove bolts at the bottom and then you can lift up and access the trunk.

2011 Hyundai Elantra trunk won't open but can hear mechanism working. The latches that allow back seats to be lowered are in trunk and there is no keyhole on trunk to open. How can we get into trunk?

Does your model have the anchor point for the child seats on the back shelf? If carefully remove each of the plastic cover you can get access to the seat release mechanism at the seat end.
Try this YouTube link to see if it helps. There should be an emergency trunk release on the inside of the trunk lid.

2007 Hyundai elantra trunk button not working and power locks and interior lights don't work

It's a surprise that an Elantra would last 10 years. Time to get this issue to a mechanic, and trade the car in. Look for a car that will last without issues and problems. I owned a new Hyundai Elantra for four years, and paid for it twice from so many electrical, steering, and suspension issues. I now drive an Infinity for the past 7 years, drove it for 160,000 miles, and not a single repair bill. Just maintenance. Other cars you may consider are Volkswagen, Volvo, Lexus, and Audi.
