I have a 2004 Chevy Impala. 3.4l v6. About two months ago, the fuel pressure regulator went out, and I forced it home. My mechanic replaced the fuel pressure regulator and said I had an EGR code, so I also had the EGR valve replaced, and changed spark plugs and wires for a misfire code. Now, sometimes when I turn right (and right only) the car dies. It doesn't matter how much gas I have in the tank, it just dies. The idle is extremely rough and I need to give the gas pedal a few pumps before it will start. When it does start , I get a strong gas smell and sometimes, white smoke comes out of the tail pipe. I did out sea foam in the gas tank about a week ago. I have a misfire code and the EGR code is still there. Any ideas on what could be wrong? My husband did unplug the EGR valve and start it, and the same rough idle/pump the gas to get it to start issue was there, but when he plugged that back in and unplugged the mass air flow sensor, it will still idle roughly, but it will start up without pumping the gas. Could the air flow sensor be doing this?

White smoke and foam in the gas tank indicates antifreeze leaking into the engine somewhere. Do you smell antifreeze? You may have an engine seal leaking, most likely head gasket. It may be affecting the various engine sensors.

SOURCE: car runs rough at idle

clean out ur throttle body, just follow the hose from the air filter to the throttle body. Need 2 people to do this. Don't remove the hose completely from the throttle body. Just enuff to be able to spray ur intake cleaner into the throttle body. Do this especially if its worse when the motor is hot, as this would confirm the problem.

SOURCE: car idles rough and stalls

Have you ever changed the fuel filter? If it's not that, and it's not a vacuum leak, it is probably your idle air control valve.

If the car ran good before you put that sea foam in the tank, there's your problem. I haven't heard one good report about that junk, some swear by it, I've always used that techron injection cleaner, and never had any complaints.

2004 impala cranks but wont start. Has spark

Check for proper pressure at the fuel rail. If the pressure is low, begin by replacing the fuel filter, and proceed to check the fuel pressure regulator, the fuel pump, the fuel pickup strainer, and check for signs of contaminated fuel.

2004 Chevy Trailblazer misfire with codes P0300 and P0410

DO NOT go back to this ripoff artist, he either doesn't know what he doing or is taking you for a ride.
Misfires are usually caused by bad spark plugs or coil packs. Find another mechanic.

2001 Chevy Impala 3.8L V6 that will not start, and when it does it will not stay running

You did not say TPS, The TPS or Throttle Positioning Sensor regulates most of how the engine acts at a given RPM.

Seems like you have many things going on, might help to just start replacing what you know is bad first.

Hope this helps.

Do you have a check engine light on and what are the codes if any? Your symptoms describe 4 things I have seen go bad on this car. A bad cat converter can cause this. A bas fuel pressure regulator can cause this. Pull vacum hose of fuel pressure regulator and inspect for liquid fuel. If there is any than the part needs replaced. A bad mas air flow sensor can also create this problem. A weak fuel pump can also cause this.
