How to chain oil pan 2010 ford fusion 2.5 engine Can't get oil plug out?

If your only having a problem with the plug have a machinist work on it, he can remove your stripped bolt by drilling it out, if the pan thread is stripped on an aluminum pan a new helicoil insert can rebuild your pan thread.

How much to change the oil pan on 2006 dodge charger sxt

You can purchase universal drain plugs at about any parts store that are designed to repair stripped out pans. They have a bar with a nut that fits into your drain hole and a plug seal that fit around the drain hole. This is the cheapest way to permanantly fix your problem.

Leaking Oil Plug '92 Olds 88 Royale LS

I wonder if the sealing washer that is on this plug has been lost. These washers are usually aluminium or have a rubber insert, and without it there you are trying for a steel on steel seal.

A stripped thread can often still be backed out, that's no guarantee. Try for a tightening torque of about 15-20 ft-lb and if you get to that it isn't stripped.

Don't worry if it IS stripped, you can buy anoversize self-tapping plug.

I have 2004 VW Toureg, went to change engine oil and it has some plug in it that says thailand on it. It looks like a possible temporary plug. Was wondering if previous owner stripped it and put bandaid on...

changing the oil drain plug is actually normal maintenance. they are used and abused so over time they will start to leak. easiest way to know if it was stripped; next time you change your oil take a good look at the threads on the oil pan. are they rounded or kinda sharp? if it was stripped its not a big concern as long as it was re-threaded properly and the correct size and thread type installed afterwards. you cna get all the proper tools too do this your self at your local auto parts store.

My drain plug in the oil pan appears to be stripped. Turns, turns, & turns. What are my options?

Oil pan replacement is the last option. There are a couple alternatives. Usually, the hole can be re-tapped (new threads cut) and an over-sized plug can be screwed in. This is the preferred method. There are expanding rubber plugs that can be inserted in the hole. These are nice because it doesnt matter how bad the threads are stripped, it will seal. Most auto parts stores have solutions for this type of repair. One thing to pint out - it is not necessary torque these plugs tight. 10 ft-lbs of torque is usually all that is required.

Can't find oil sencor

Durangos are known for oil sludge, so you may need to drop the oil pan, and clean the screen in the pann and might have to scrape out the pan, you can also change the oil pump just make sure you install a new gasket after you drop the pan, that should fix the problem, but if the oil is very very dark goto an auto zone, pepboys, or any other auto speciality store, and get yourself some of the cleaner for the oil, you drain your pil, put the plug back in and put this in the engine, run the engine for like 2 to 5 min. and shut it off drain the oil again, then install new oil and filter, thiat should help you out.
