Well it sounds like you have either trans oil problem or pump problem or convertor problem but all these will be stopping the the pump in the box from shifting up the last 3 gears as it has to tighten the bands on forward and another for the reverse.
Not unless you have a problem with the selector going in to the g/box.
Other wise call into the automatic trans people and get it checked before you do internal damage. then it starts getting big $$$$$$$$$$

I would say you have broken you reverse band, the only cure is remove the gearbox(major), Does you gearbox have a reverse servo, it is normally on the side of the box

have the ecu check you need to have a proper electronic tune up and most probably have it analyse

Use a scanner to confirm whether you might have a fault on the automatic gearbox,or the gear box ecu is not working or the gear box is un serviceable and needs replacement.

Remember you have pre loaded cam gear's that have to be loaded, or it will make kinda of a lifter noise but not lifter's.

sounds like torque converter but also check shifter alignment.

i think you need a new mechanic, i got that problem twice, each time the transmission had to be changed because the 1st gear was shot. i eventually changed to a 5fwd gear-box which increased performance like you would never imagine.

it seems that the gear bushings have worn out. you need to take your car to a mechanic to have the bushings changed. Also, please check it your car has enough Automatic Transmission Fluid.
