1997 ford escort radio stopped working - fuse is fine - is there a second fuse? This is not the premium radio, just stock radio/tape player/clock. It seems there is no power to the unit.

Found these two fuses. Not only check the fuses, use a test light and check voltage on fuse circuit, one is hot all the time. The other goes hot with key on.
Ground wire is important, also, ground wire is usually black in color.

You might try testing the power that leads into the insturment panel. You can remove the hole radio assembly by bending a wire coat hanger enough to get it into the two holes on the sides. When you pull it out, you will have depressed a couple of clips. The power switch is connected to the left side in the back of the unit. Hope this helps.

there should be a main fuse in-line from the battery. try checking that. if that is good, it might be the ignition switch.

SOURCE: i had to remove a fuse in my 1998 ford escort, stop battery drain

first, is your battery definitely good? a failing battery can make a normal draw seem to be a parasitic draw. secondly, do you know how many milliamps are being drawn from the battery while key is out of the car and everything is turned off? if you find that less than 50 mA are being drawn while key off, then this is considered acceptable battery draw. make sure no accessories are plugged into lighter, and remove the bulb from the interior light. if excessive mA are still being drawn now, then your radio (or wiring if not original) is probably the cause

Radio, CD player, Sync, clock stopped working on my 2008 Ford Explorer

Most likely a fuse. If your fuse box is labeled it will say radio under the fuse. If its not check your owners manual for location of fuse box and radio fuse.

My car radio,cd,tape player and clock does not work

hi margie, your fault lies with the power line feeding both your clock and car radio units. check the fuse of the line feeding your radio/clock section. the fuse box should have the areas clearly marked. also check if the ground connection to radio/clock is not diconnected sumhow. if this advice does not help then it wub advisable for you to consult with nearest auto-elecrician. cheers.

The radio on my 2001 ford escort completely broke. It won't turn on and the clock doesn't even show up. The fuse is fine. What else could it be?

It could be the radio itself... the ford radio is famous for going out or shorting out. unfortually i believe a new radio is around $400 so the best thing to do is put a CD player from an elctronic store such as Best buy or somewhere like that.

2000 escort - tuner does not work but CD and TAPE are fine

most likely is the radio itself- typical ford radio... best bet is look in a junkyard for a new radio- there are no fusible links- there usually is just one 10amp fuse in the inside fusebox. but if the cd& tape players work it is in the stereo itself. hope this helps and good luck
