I have a 99 galant, automatic, and it seems to be stuck in 3rd, limp mode, found out my reverse light aren't working, the fuse was blown, changed fuse and as soon as i turn the key it blew again and i do know this will cause limp mode but what could be causing this fuse to keep blowing, i tried to locate the reverse light switch and cant find it and dont know how to tell if it was bad when i do find it, also i think the speed sensor is bad(it's cracked and loose) can this be a problem with my fuse issues, im at a loss with this one.
The speed sensor is probably the root of your problems. Likely the reverse switch wiring is routed through the harness for the sensor. That could also be the reason it goes into limp mode. Change the sensor and see if all problems are resolved. Good luck.

ok so i took the car and got the codes checked and what it was showing wasnt making sence so the tech said it just might be the speed sensor.I replaced it and yes it was bad broke in 2, now i was told to reset the computer to get it out of limp mode, I took the negative cable off the battery for a while and nothing, it did stop blowing the fuse for the reverse light but how do i reset the thing.

the car has the capablilites to give data and codes. You gunna need a professional if you dont have access to a scanner and multimeter. Otherwise were just guessing.
I hate telling people that its out of their hands but sometimes its best to let the pro diag it and then you can repair it if you capable

You have short circuit between battery positive terminal and chassis.Follow a cable from battery to an alternator.If O.K. remove alternator and check all diods- 6 pse.Also check cable from battery to a starter motor.

1st Remove Battery cable from Battery because the only time the air bags will deploy is when the key is in the ignition. I have tilt steering and when I put the steering wheel in the up most position. I came right out. But now it seems to stick more lately.

Any unsolve wrong and the ECU is advise to you. Or forgetted RESET the error codes stored in the ECU.
Unplugged the negative battery few minutes, this operation reset your ECU; if this dont work, visit any auzotone or dealer shope foe reset your OBD codes.
