The '02 Mitsubishi Galant does not have a serviceable turn signal flasher. The flashing operation is control by the Electronic Time Alarm Control System (ETACS) Electronic Control Unit (ECU). The ETACS ECU is located behind the left side of the dashboard, attached to the fuse junction block. It receives power from Multi-Purpose Fuse 2 (7.5A) located in the same junction block as well as from Dedicated Fuse 8 (10A) in the engine compartment relay box. Abnormal turn signal operation could be caused by a faulty turn signal switch, wiring or the ETACS ECU. You will need to rent a fuel pressure gauge from the local parts store. Locate the fuel pressure test port, you may have to refer to service information to locate this port or you may have to T into the fuel supply line.

2 Cycle the ignition key "on" and check your readings, write this number down. Start the car and run it, record your fuel pressure reading again. If your performance problem occurs when driving then you will need to take a road test to record the fuel pressure when driving. Tape the gauge to the windshield and have an assistant watch the gauge while you drive.

so you wasted your money on a fuel pump.. now take it to someone who can actually troubleshoot and repair the problem you have...its cheaper sometimes to pay

Take it to a mitsubishi dealer and 90% of the time they will not even charge you to look up the code,Do not guess at the code it can lock the radio.
My brother works for mitsubishi and he told me this.

There is no simple answer, there are to many variables. If you have access to a scan tool, pulling the codes should help. Without them its back to old school hunt and peck method. At this point we need to narrow down the problem. You need to test for spark.

1. Tag and disconnect the spark plug wires from the spark plugs.
   
2. Remove the spark plugs and install the spark plug wires to each spark plug.
   
3. Ground (do not hold spark plug) the spark plug; check if spark occurs while engine is being cranked.
   

Crank the engine for no more than 2 seconds at a time to prevent flooding the engine with gasoline.
If you have spark, You will want to make sure you have fuel injector pulse, along with fuel pressure. If you have spark ..simply spray some starting fluid in through the air filter and hold the gas pedal to the floor and crank it over while spraying. If it fires up, you know it is fuel related( fuel pump, regulator, or ECM if no injector pulse) . If you have no spark then look at ignition coil connection and trace through to the distributor( if equipped ). The crank shaft sensor has a tendency to fail on these as well. This should give you a few things to test and check to start you on your way to narrowing it down. If you have no spark then look at ignition coil connection for power and trace through to the distributor( if equipped ). If it is DIS( no distributor). It may be the Crank sensor or the ECU. The crank shaft sensor has a tendency to fail on these as well.
The ECU uses the signal sent from the Crank sensor to trigger the spark and fuel injectors. ( make certain you have checked all fuses)

Look in your engine compartment for damaged vacuum hoses. Your problem seems to be a vacuum leak. Hoses may be unplugged , split , ripped , broken from heat source, cracked. Take your time and look closely at every hose , I think you will find your problem. Good Luck Friend.

Not likely.. Check the bolts at the thermostat... most likely didn't get them tight enough..tip of you replace a thermostat always buy a fail open thermostat .. Fail close ones kill more cars then you would believe.

Have dealer install a tracer dye in the oil tank. This will show u the location of the leak. After u find the leak u can fix it

Are you talking about heater core? My labor info for 3.0L galant says 5.8 hrs. So the cost depends on what the shop charges for labor? If a shop charges 100 bucks an hour, that is almost 600 bucks and that's labor. Parts are extra.

I hate to have to tell you this, but the 2.4L (4g64) is an interference engine. That means when the timing belt broke, the pistons hit the valves, causing at least a few of them to bend. here is the overhaul section of the factory service manual for the 2.4L. its technically from the eclipse manual but it will work for the galant. -You mean you see oil inside the radiator. ? If so then head gasket is blown or may be the head is cracked. Now water and oil are mix together. -Do compression test to find out. If no compression then it need to be rebuild. Good luck Mai

Am looking for manual wiring diagramme for Mitsubishi Diamante 2000/2002 model, the one i have is in Japanese and also car stereo that is in Japanese.

Possible dirty throttle valve and idle speed control valve.

Throttle Body Cleaning on vehicles without electronic throttle control (most 2003 and down)

You can in most cases repair this slow speed stall or unstable idle by cleaning the engine throttle valve and the idle speed control valve using a product called CRC Spray Throttle valve cleaner. Spray the cleaner into the air intake of the engine with the hose removed from the throttle body, the engine will try to stall so hold up the idle speed manually. Once you have used up about 1/2 can of the cleaner stall the engine out while spraying and turn the key off, disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 minutes and then reconnect and drive the car for a about 25 miles of varied driving modes. If this doesn't cure the problem you may need the fuel injectors professionally cleaned by the dealer service dept.

gear oil is not the problem because it you started a cold engine and let it idle for a while (5 minutes) the gear box oil will thin out IN correct oil generally shows as slashing gears when changing as it prevents the synco rings from operating properly I f you have a hydraulic clutch ,it indicates a problem master cylinder and you are pressurizing the system to compress any air that should be bled out properly If there has been no clutch system maintenance since new , or within the last 5 years ,it would be ideal to take it to an accredited brake and clutch specialist shop and have both the slave cylinder and master cylinder replaced
