SRS light stays on-mechanic says they want you to replace ''things'' and check system out after 10 years, so light automatically comes on and stays on. If car was never in a crash, not necessary. Correct? Also says this version is not turbo charged. Correct? Oil leaking. major/ Minor? Thnaks. Joe

Your mechanic is obviously trying to get you to pay for minute repairs...unless something is obviously wrong it could be a fuse...or their might be a problem...cant be sure without seeing the vehicle myself...but dont go paying for a bunch of random replacements it wont change the light situation....and yes it is turboed

Airbag systems have a shelf life of ten years. Look at the inside of the door pillar and the Expiry date should be written there. It's also on the passenger side if there is an Airbag fitted. These lights can be extinguished but it has to be plugged in. This is the quickest solution unless You want to replace the Airbags as required as if an accident happens the Airbags mightn't deploy.

Holden Vy 2002 SRS light won't turn off why

There could be several reasons why the SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) light on your Holden Vy 2002 won't turn off.
One possibility is that there is a fault or malfunction in the SRS system itself. This could be caused by a faulty sensor, a loose or damaged connector, or a problem with the SRS module. In this case, you will likely need to have the system diagnosed and repaired by a qualified mechanic. They will be able to use specialized diagnostic tools to identify the exact cause of the issue and make the necessary repairs.
Another possible reason is that there is a problem with the wiring or electrical system. Check for any loose or damaged wires leading to the SRS module or sensors. If you notice any issues, they will need to be repaired or replaced accordingly.
It's also possible that the SRS light is staying on due to a previous collision or impact, even if the damage has been repaired. In this case, there may be an issue with the crash sensors or impact sensors that are still detecting a problem. Again, a qualified mechanic will be able to diagnose and address this issue.
Overall, it's important to have the SRS system inspected and repaired as soon as possible. The SRS light indicates that there may be a problem with the safety system that could affect the performance of your vehicle in the event of an accident.

How do I fix the SRS light... The car has been sitting for a few year and only started up each month , now the SRS light is not working

The supplemental restraint system (SRS) warning light is most commonly known as the airbag system light. This is a computer controlled system .
When the vehicle is first started, the SRS light should come on for 1 to 5 seconds while the system goes through a self-test sequence. If the light goes out, then the system is ready. If the light stays on, there is a fault somewhere in the SRS system.
if the light won't come on at all, the coputer system needs to be checked out.

Ford Expedition airbag light flashes 4x's then 2x's eventually stays on solid and I already checked the plugs under the seat

The first thing any Mechanic should do is check for
SRS Codes (safety restraint system)
They will need a data base to look up manufacture
air bag codes & follow a diagnostic charts to find the issue

On the dashboard of my hunda cr-v, 2002 model, when i turn on the engine the letters SRS come on, stay for a few seconds and go off. I do not remember seeing this before. as i have no manul and bought the...

SRS-seatbelt response system, is a part of your airbag system and braking system, once you hit brakes very hard SRS makes sure that the belt is getting tight, in case of collision seatbelt gets stiff and the airbag blows up. SRS light coming on and staying for few seconds is fine as computer is checking the system, once it stays on or flashes you need top go to a garage as you might get a surprise blow in the face by the airbag.

What does the red light on the bord with letters SRS means? It stays on for few seconds after I start the car (Honda accord 1995). Thank you

srs means secondary restraint system. e.g air bags and things like that. when it stays on for a few seconds its because it is doing a systems check. if the light stays on all the time then there is a problem. hope i helped.

What is the SRS light? I have 1996 honda accord

the SRS stands for Supplemental Restraint System. Most people call it the air bags but the SRS system includes all of the sensors and control units for air bags, seat belt pre-tensioners and passenger detection systems on cars that are equiped with them

each time you start the car up the SRS control unit will do a self-test of the system to make sure all of the sensors are working properly. The SRS light will stay on while that test is conducted. If all is well and everything passes the on-board test the light will go out in about 7 seconds. If something is wrong the light will stay on.

whenever a failure is detected for any reason, the SRS light is turned on and the system is shut off. The air bags will not be deployed when the SRS light is on.

They call it a Supplemental Restraint System because your seat belts are your primary restraint system.

hope that answers your question

Srs light

Well thats one of two things. First the srs light stands for Supplemental Restraint System or in otherwords the airbag system now the light being on could be because its due for a maintance check up or there could be a problem with the system

Srs

SRS stands for Supplemental Restraint System. It has to do with everything that is related to the airbags: Sensors, Control units, Seat Belt pre-tensioners and passenger detection systems (if your car has one). When the car is started, the system will go through a series of self-tests to make sure that the entire system is working properly. The SRS light will either flash during this test or remain on steadily during it. If there is one thing that failed at this test, the light will remain on and I understand that your airbags will not work while this light remains on. You need to have it checked at a dealer, but be prepared: it will cost some money to check it and that's before they discover if anything is wrong that caused the light to stay on in the first place.
