most caps are pressure release if you drill in it , might not release when needed. in hot weather. soke with super pup lightly tap on cap. use plairs or socket to loosen. one other way to do this is to put a tee in a heater holes, with clamps. be sure to put it on the highest point of line. if cross over tube can be changed , change it. if it has a sensor in it try removing the sensor to fill.

Possible shift solenoid problem . Do you have any idea how the electronic shift control works ? Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop. Have it checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes .

Dash lights go through the light switch, any aftermarket addons? old and new multi switch have no effect? usually if any ground issues is towards rear of vehicle.

You might want to try turning the climate control temp settings all the way down. Then turn the system OFF. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and let the car sit for 5 to 10 minutes. When time is up reconnect the battery and then start the car. Turn on the Heat/AC and adjust the temp setting. Sometimes this works on cars with computer controlled climate control systems. They are exterior lamps, front and rear. Turn your headlamp switch to park position. The lamps that are on, they are park lamps. I'm talking about manual lamps not autolamps, Mainly cause I don't want to fool with autolamps, just lazy, I guess. If none of them work have to check wiring diagrams and applicable fuses. You always need voltage and ground for electrical systems. You see the two fuses on the left in diagram, not only check the fuse, check the fuse circuit for voltage. The top fuse circuit is hot all the time, the bottom fuse goes hot with headlamp switch in the park lamp position. Use a testlite to check for voltage.

You must depress brake pedal to get shifter to move. Shifter unit is electrical, not mechanical to the transmission!

The supplemental restraint system (SRS) warning light is most commonly known as the airbag system light. This is a computer controlled system . When the vehicle is first started, the SRS light should come on for 1 to 5 seconds while the system goes through a self-test sequence. If the light goes out, then the system is ready. If the light stays on, there is a fault somewhere in the SRS system. if the light won't come on at all, the coputer system needs to be checked out.

Remove mirror mount cover assembly. Remove inside door handle cup (22634). Remove door lock control bezel. Remove window control bezel. Remove interior lamp lens. Remove screw from interior lamp assembly body. Remove screw from window control bezel opening. Disconnect mirror, lock switches and memory seat on driver side from bezels and wire harness. Disconnect window switches from window bezel and wire harness. Lift front door trim panel (23942) vertically, out of weatherstrip and over lock rod. Disconnect interior lamp (13776) from wire harness. Remove front and rear door trim retention hooks into door inner panel. To install, reverse Removal procedure, paying special attention when inserting inner door trim into weatherstrip. Rock inner door trim into weatherstrip and push downward until lower trim belt character ditch lines up with score mark on inner door panel.

The mk8 has an oil filter adapter plate behind filter. The one on my car started leaking and got so bad I had to replace the gasket.
