No if the head gasket went it takes time to wear a spot out in it to make it finally go.How many miles on it?Rust in coolant mean you had a dirty radiator that needed flushed out for a long time, and the rad changes just helped cleaning it.

Check your coolant level. low levels cause no heat. (antifreeze)

I would add coolant to the overflow reservoir. There is not radiator cap on the radiator itself.
