He must have meant the intake manifold gasket. That is a complex job, but can be done if you have basic knowledge of mechanics and a few hand tools. Best advice is to get a haynes repair manual from an auto parts store as it will have step by step instructions and photos. Good luck. Dont forget to rate.

This is not a problem for an amateur
If it is a gasket I would clean the engine and then drive it a few miles to get it hot then with a flash light try to see exactly where it is leaking it could be a pin hole in one of your hoses or your radiator

Kia sedona emmits white smoke with brownish oil dripping at the exhaust .is it from head gasket or someparts in the engine?

head gasket yes, bc antifreeze is entering throught the oil ports or down throught the rings, if the water get to the oil it will wipe your bearing out

I will like to know if the antifreeze leak could be from the water pump if the leak comes from the bottom of the car and not from the radiator

ALL antifreeze leaks will be seen coming from the bottom of the car. Yes, it COULD becoming from the water pump. But then again, it could be coming from an intake manifold gasket, a heater hose, a throttle-body heater hose, a freeze plug, a timing cover, a heater control valve, etc..
To find out where it is leaking from, you must follow the antifreeze trail UP from where you see it leaking. Antifreeze leaks ALLWAYS travel downhill. Sometimes they can be deceiving also. I have seen intake manifold leaks at the front of the engine run all the way to the back of the engine and make it look like a rear freeze plug is leaking. Again, you must follow the trail to find the actual source.

I have antifreeze leaking from somewhere in the front. I think it could be the thermostat housing. the leak only happens when the engine is warm and it's not that much of a leak. just enough to have to...

The one definite thing you need to do is to run the engine 'till it begins to leak, turn it off and carefully examine everything and find the source. Obviously, I can't see it but the start of any repair involves identifying what needs to be replaced by looking. Antifreeze will run down to where it can drip off the car onto the ground. Make sure you find the actual source which most often is much higher up on the engine than the point where you actually see the drip. When hot, the coolant is under pressure so before attempting the actual repair wait for it to cool down or you can get burned.

Antifreeze leaking from the back of the motor

Probably a intake manifold gasket leak. If you can see in the back part of the engine or know that the anti-freeze is leaking down the back on the transmission then on the ground then that is probably where it is coming from. The other place to check is the heater core which would be on the passenger side and see if where the hose come through the firewall that they are not leaking and running down and dripping on the ground. If your leak is on the intake manifold you will have get anther gasket and change the gasket which means removing about everything on top of the engine.

My 2000 Olds Silhouette leaks coolant.

First is to check to see if it's your intake gasket, pull the dip stick and look at the condition of the oil. Look for excessive sludge and milking, look under the oil cap and look in to the valve cover, also pull the PVC valve and look at the condition. Check to see if there is sludge and milking, if there is then you have antifreeze leaking in to you engine crank case which is very bad. The antifreeze is corrosive to the engine bearing and will soon cost you a new engine if there is no indication of antifreeze in your crank case, then it's a leak somewhere else through out your cooling system. If you see the leak from the out side then that's good, it may just be a bad hose clamp that needs to be tightened. If your not sure and want to buy some time, add about 3 table spoon of common kitchen Black Pepper. The black pepper will work it's way throughout the cooling system and will plug up the leak for now and the great thing about pepper is that it will not leave any residue when you flush out the system, not like the radiator stop leaks out in the market. Good luck and keep me posted, it could be the heater hose to the heater core.

Ok, i got an oil leak that even fooled a mechanic. got a leak over by the filter adapter housing coming down the side of it. after buying the replacement part and gasket, still leaking. does this sound...

the mechanic wasnt fooled, he just didnt take the time to really find out where the leak is at. get a mirror and a light and find the leak. intake gaskets and valve cover gaskets are reall common on that engine.

Using antifreeze had intake valve replaced and still using antifreeze

Who told you that would fix it? Is it leaking out on the ground? If not then check oil, if good possible blown head gasket gets burned in cylinder. Can remove plugs to check for water.

2000 chevy impala ls - oil spray under hood inline with serpentine belt

You may have a lower intake manifold gasket leak (or a head gasket leak-slightly less probable) the lower intake can leak onto the serpentine belt and fling oil (and/or antifreeze). The lower intake manifold gasket is usually the culprit here. There is much information about changing it if you are inclined to do it yourself. If not, expect around 800 to 1200 to fix at dealer/mechanic. This is usually accompanied by (but not always) oil in the antifreeze, or antifreeze in the oil...
