SOURCE: Not shifting from second gear

Try unhooking the battery for a couple minutes to clear the error codes stored in the computer. Then hook the battery back up and with the key in the run position and engine off, push the gas pedal all the way to the floor and release, and again floor it and release. Then start the car and take it for a test drive. The computer controled transmission uses info from both the TPS sensor and a speed sensor. You might have to take the car to a dealer to reprogram the computer.

Go to your local auto parts superstore and ask them to hook up the OBD scanner to read the fault codes. Or your mechanic. Hope this helps.

I have a 95 mercury sable 3.0 6 cyl. Been having a shifting problem between 1st and 2nd gears for about 2 yrs. I would have to feather the gas when it would shift from 1st to 2nd. Then it would drive fine....

Hello
u'd need a proper manual for this in my opinion
like there are plenty of dealers and online shops that deal in those..
you can get some free at reliable-store and it;s actually really illustrative

What's the normal rpm while shifting gears on an automatic 2006 c230?

No such figure. Shift points can be near the redline RPM or just above idle, it depends on hard you press the gas pedal.

MY 99 FI50 WONT HIFT IN TO 3R SHIFTS N PULLS FINE FROM 1ST TO 2ND THOUGH

If it wont shift at all, its very likely computer related. Its unlikely it could be vacuum because of its age. Their is a computer for newer trans and sometimes some of the components can fail. I once bought an accord that lost 2nd and 3rd due to its computer, shifted great after i hit the junk yard. If it shifts hard though, solenoids and valve body gasket.

Automatic Transmission shifting problems.

i had the same thing...It's the transmission. It's REALLY noticeable shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. I was able to get my transmission fixed for 900 bux. That wasn't even a replacement so i can imagine how much it would cost to get it replaced. The shifting will get worse. By the end of my "experience" it wouldn't shift from 1st to 2nd for about 5 minutes until i drove it around for a bit. THen it would "warm up" to the idea of shifting to 2nd gear.

Transmission will not shift out of 1st gear.

Check your transmission fluid level. If the filter has never been changed, now is a good time to replace the fluid and filter.

Trannsmisson Problems

check carefully to make sure it is shifting from 1st to 2nd.... there is a "sun reactor shell" inside the transmission that when broken causes reverse, 2nd and fourth to be lost. it is an extremely common failure.

best way to check.... drive along with the gear shift lever in "2" you should feel one shift as you accelerate. then carefully bump it into "3" or "D" whichever the case may be. another shift should be felt. if you do not feel a shift, you have likely stripped the teeth of that shell. hope this helps..
