SOURCE: steering wheel installation

Does it move at all??? If so then the star bolt that goes in the center hole is the brake so to speak.
the lever that turns back and forth on the column has 2 small screws that attach to the lever.
tighten the center bolt until the wheel is secure, then set the tightening lever to the tight position and put the 2 screws in place. they will fit in between the star or teeth on the bolt and attach to the tightening lever.

How do I replace a turn signal switch on a 1989 Full Size Bronco, not a tilt wheel.

You will need to remove the steering wheel...using a steering wheel puller, or a harmonic balancer puller...the turn signal switch is under the steering wheel...unscrew hold downs, trace wire from turn signal switch to under the dash behind the brake pedal, disconnect the connector wire...re-install pulling wire up from floor to inside the steering wheel...sometimes tying the wire to another object, then pull through...hope this helps.

The steering column on my 1985 Corvette is loose (wiggles around). How do you tighten it up?

Do you have a tilt steering colum if so you have to pull the stearing wheel .remove the turn signal assembly ( all this requires some specialty tools Like a wheel puller stearing coloum tool to depress the steering wheel lock ) if your not equiped call a mechanic and save some time.

No, remove steering wheel, you will need a steering wheel puller, most auto parts rent this tool, center wheel where you want it, and reinstall it.

How do you replace the ignition lock cylinder for a 1972 Corvette? The cylinder is stuck in the lock position and even with the key inserted it will not turn, thus locking the steering wheel and vehicle in...

Try and turn the wheel from side to side while turning the key as it may be jammed on the locking pin... If that's a no go then you must remove the steering wheel and signal switch to access the screw that holds the cylinder in place. If you must remove the wheel go to a parts store and buy a lock plate installer to remove the circlip that holds the lock plate compressed.

I have a 1981 Corvette with tilt steering wheel. The steering wheel has started flopping like something is loose in the steering column. Whats going on? Thanks Jim

You must remove the steering cowl below the steering wheel and see what is loose, broken or worn. It more likely to be a loose bolt, in which case just tighten it and refit the cowl.
Hope that helps
