94 camry 2 door 4 cylinder the fuse that controls the speedometer, the tach, temperature gage, auto over drive, heater fans, oil light, maybe a few of the other dash lights that show when starting the car, keeps blowing when i start the car and put it into gear, always reverse first because of where i park. if i start the car and put it into drive with the fuse out, i can then insert the fuse and it does not blow.
thanks for any suggestions.

It was a wire for the tail lights that needed to be changed.

sounds like the computer has a glitch. you might need to go to the dealer to have the computer trained(reprogrammed) or to see if you need a new one.

If there is anything, that is in any way "burnt", it needs to be replaced.
I would try a local auto recycler before I ordered a new light failure sensor.

Probably a faulty door switch. Are you familiar with what I'm talking about. Little push like switches that the doors push on as they close, usually on door post by latch end, or sometimes in jamb of door at hinge end.

sit in the drivers seat close the door. with the key off hold the trip odometer button in then while holding the button in turn the key on. if done correctly this will put the MIC (mechanical instrument cluster) into a self test. if the speedometer does not move like the rest of the gauges during this test the MIC must be replaced. if the speedometer does move it is likely your problem will be fixed, however, if the speedometer does move but it does not start working properly then further diagnostic will be needed.

my car did this when i replaced the backup lights (white) with some "extra bright" bulbs. I finally had to go back to the regular bulbs and the fuse wouldn't burn. Check your back up light bulbs and see if they are the proper wattage.
