Unfortunately it sounds like your automatic transmission has suffered a catastrophic failure. But to be sure, allow your vehicle to warm up to normal operating temprature, pull the oil level dipstick for the transmission and check the level. It should be in the checker portion of the stick to be correct level. If it is not, adding fluid may help the condition temporarily. Check for leaks while the engine is running. Have Lincoln or transmission specialist have a look. When it comes to transmissions in general, it is best to let the pros handle it for youl

97' Lincoln Continental It Dont have Power on the Gear Drive it Barely moves it does go on Reverse

Check your transmission fluid level and smell/color. You have to check it with the engine on. Make sure the fluid is at the right level and that it doesn't look gritty or sparkly. You may have a clogged transmission filter if everything else checks out.

I have 1999 Lincoln Continental that slam's into gear when you start going. Fluid is not burnt and is full. What would cause that? The car otherwise runs great

Having owned a trans repair shop, I
would guess you would expect me
to give you an exact detailed list, of all
the possible things that need attention

What I will say is STOP DRIVING IT

ANY SLAMMING OR SLIPPING, and
your close to pulling that trans out.

You don't need to discuss the what if's,
just get it looked at, and resolved, BEFORE
you drive it

97 continental . when you put your foot on the brake and depress the button on the floor shift it should go into gear. Now there has to be some type of solenoid that enables it to release and go into...

On the base of the shifter under the console. It recieves power from fuse 28 of the fuse panel. Are you sure you have brake lights? This is what energizes the solenoid.
