Are the inside of the battery terms dirty, corroided? do you know if motor alt is charging batt? how long did it run when you put new batt in? if it lasted about two days, its proubly not charging, also make sure nothing is being left on draining batt down, to check that, leave batt nuhooked pos side over night.

It ran for a little bit then it died after about a day but nothing was draining from it

And I tried the trick by leaving the battery pos off overnight and that didn't work for me either

Have the alternator and the battery tested as one if not both items may have gone bad.

SOURCE: jeep 2002 grand cherokee dies unless i keep foot on the gas...

The idle relearn needs reset. Keep your foot on the gas at about 900 rpm. Make it idle for about 5-6 minutes. Slowly ease up on the gas until it will idle on it's own, it might take a while. After you get it to idle, it might be idling real low, but on its own, Let it sit and idle until for 20 minutes. After that it should be back to normal. You will have to do this every time you have the battery unhooked for a while.

SOURCE: My Subaru won't start without

On all cars built the last 25-30 years: Never, never pull your battery off when car is running: you can fry a bunch of electronics (computer, sensors, ignition circuits, alternator). Never pull battery off when key is on, either.

My 1998 jeep grand cherokee surges at cruising speeds. also jumps in secound gear.

It sounds like you either have an Electrical Issue with the PCM or your Band is slipping and you are looking at a rebuild sometime soon.

My 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited has a new battery but won't start. When I try to jump start it, it just makes a clicking sound but won't start.

Most likely you have a bad connection somewhere. Trace the battery cables and clean/tighten all terminals or try jumping to a different lug. You might also try removing the starter and jumping directly to the starter to verify that it is good.

04 jeep grand cherokee won't start just drags,

Could be a failing starter or problems with the cables.
A dead cell in the battery will do it too.

My jeep (97 Jeep GC Lorado) won't shift into gear. I was told it needs to be rebuilt costing 2K-2.5K is it worth rebuilding?

depends on how much you love your jeep. honestly. not trying to sound mean. i know some jeep crazies that will spend any amount to keep their baby running. if the jeep isnt that much to you probably best to sell it. Blue book value is about 3500 in fair shape

On my '98 grand cherokee i've replaced plugs, rotor, d'cap, and coil and still will not start. why?

Was it running before you replaced all of those? If so, then you need to backtrack and check that you got everything hooked up right.

If it wasn't running, you need to tell us a lot more indication other than it just won't run. Like what error codes you got, etc.
