    i have the same issue

I have an '06 Jeep Liberty as well and have had the same problem twice, once last May and again this March. Last year they replaced my speed sensor. Now the dealer is telling me my clock spring is gone, even though another mechanic told me that my horn won't work if the clock spring is gone and it does work. I'd say this is a common defect with the Liberty and the dealer will do anything to "fix" the problem to keep making money.

I did too. I found the problem to be a broken wire about 4" from the connector to the speed sensor. This seams to be a very common problem and an easy fix you can do yourself.

wheel speed sensor. Take to mechanic to scan to find which wheel sensor it is. You can get cheap ones on ebay. Solved my problem and wasn't too expensive.

You need to take the jeep to a dealer or a good mechanic who can retreive the codes out of the computer. You may have a module problem but I will not guess without knowing the codes.

I've taken it to the dealer and they say there are not codes showing, what to I do now? They want to replace the wire harness @ $4,500.

2006 dodge stratus won't crank and cruise control won't light

Must not have been much of a mechanic. If the engine runs and sounds fine sometimes and other times it doesn't then it does not sound like a mechanical problem with the engine. Sounds more like a issue with either the ignition system or fuel system.

Liberty 2006 : Cruise control and fog lamps are not working... Lamps are not burnt out. Cruise light indicator does not light...

It sounds like your multifunction switch has an internal failure and needs to be replaced. This is the part that you flip to use the turn signals, wipers, cruise control, fog lamps, etc. This can be an expensive part, but it is almost certainly the cause of your concern.

Let me know if you'd like to know how to replace it. It is a fairly easy part to replace.

Hope this helps!
