Toyota camry door jamb switch issues

Once I turn the engine off and open the door, sometimes the headlights will not turn off. If I close the door and reopen it, the lights go off. So I'm guessing the issue is with the door jamb switch? Also, my dome light works for awhile and then blows the buld! Would this be related? Thanks,

Dome light works for a few days then blows the bulb, not the fuse.

SOURCE: 97 camry headlights stay on

more than likely one of these is bad: 1. GAUGE Fuse (I/P J/B No.1)
2. Integration Relay (I/P J/B No.1)
3. Door Courtesy Switch (Driver’s)
4. Wire Harness

SOURCE: non-functioning dome light

These have contacts that seem to wear out before the life of the car is up. I bought a used one off EBAy and replaced it. Check the switch integrity - make sure the contacts connect.

How to turn off inside (dome light) in 1992 buick skylark

The headlight switch will either have a rotory knob that dims and brightens the instrument lights. When the instruments lights are at their brightest, just past that the dome light will come on. Back that off just a bit (you should feel it click). If it has no rotary knob then its in the pull switch that turns the headlights on. Twist that knob counter clockwise.

If that is not the issue then there may be a door jamb switch that needs adjusting.
Open a door and push on the door jamb switch (usually located near the front of the door area by the hinges). If it still does not go off then try another door until you find the one that makes it go off.
Then, with some pliers, grab the button and gently pull out. The button is inside of a sleeve and that sleeve moves in and out of the part that screws into the body. When you close the door it will push the button and sleeve in as far as it needs to go.

then if that is not it there is a wire for the dome light grounding. The interior lights have constant power and it is the ground that opens and closes to turn the light on and off.

How to install headlights on 2002 toyota camry

I assume you mean just the bulbs:
  1. 1 Shut off the Camry's engine and set the parking brake for added safety. Also, make sure its headlights are switched off.
  2. 2 Open the hood using the primary and auxiliary hood release latches.
  3. 3 Locate the back of the headlight assembly and determine whether the low- or high-beam bulb needs to be replaced.
  4. 4 Turn the headlight bulb socket counterclockwise to remove it from the assembly.
  5. 5 Unplug the electrical connector from the back of the bulb. Carefully dispose of the bulb to prevent it from shattering or cracking.
  6. 6 Attach the electrical connector to the new bulb and insert it into the headlight assembly. Twist it clockwise to secure its position.
  7. 7 Test the new headlight to make sure it works before closing the hood.
Thank you,

1994 toyota camry shut off while driving or slow down

What you're describing can be caused by any number of things. However, sometimes, on that generation of Camry, a similar problem is caused by a malfunction in the EGR valve. If the EGR valve opens when it shouldn't, or if it stays open when it should close, it will kill the engine. You can try disconnecting the vacuum hose that actuates the EGR. (Plug the hose so junk doesn't get sucked in). This will disable the EGR from opening. Or, you can disconnect the EGR Vacuum Switching Valve from its electrical harness. This will also inhibit the EGR. If either one of these two "fixes" prevents the problem from happening again, you'll know that it's an issue with the EGR valve.

1995 Toyota Camry LE. No power windows operate

the fuse switch is merely a fuse in your fuse panel ,,however many issues regarding this is between the door jamb in the plastic boot the wires over time become worn from all the opening and closing of the door if you remove the switch itself and use of a test light will ensure proper diagnosis is there power to the switch if so then it may very well be the switch itself

91 toyota camry door ajar light stays on along with the chime

Probably a faulty door switch. Are you familiar with what I'm talking about. Little push like switches that the doors push on as they close, usually on door post by latch end, or sometimes in jamb of door at hinge end.
