Rear tire locked

I hope that someone can help me... I have a '93 Mercury Sable and I used my e-brake the other night and yesterday my rear tire was locked. Everyone tells me that its just frozen, but I know nothing about cars and I have to fix this asap. I got under the car and tried to get all the snow and ice off. Then I sprayed some WD-40 around. My friend tried to take it on the road to loosen it and it seemed to work, until she pulled back into the driveway. Now its locked again.

Whats making my 1999 mercury sable make a loud roaring sound while driving? and sometimes it stalls when stopping or slowing down.

Used tires sometimes are used for a reason. Also make sure your brakes are releasing completely (especially the emergency brake)...sometimes over-tightening wheels on to the disc brakes can cause excessive noise.

Crank shaft sensor for a 93 mercury sable

The 3.0 engine should be near the crank pulley in front of the engine.
The 3.8 engine uses a distributor.

Yesterday went to town put my 2001 mercury sable in park and could not get it back in gear, after fighting with it for several mins. It went in gear, went to save alot did the same thing, turned ignition...

Brake Shift interlock system problem probably . This is a safety system that will not let you move the gear selector from park ,unless your foot is pressing on the brake pedal . Electrically controlled locking solenoid , wiring , brake switch used to control this .

The left rear tire locked up only when going forward

Hello, Most likely you have broken Emergency brake pads trapped inside the inner rear Rotor or drum. There is also a possibility that a rear wheel bearing has collapsed especially if you have heard a whining noise while driving.

Since the Sable is a Front-wheel drive vehicle, the rear wheels have few parts. This will not cost as much to fix. The rear rotor/drum will need to be removed and the defective parts replaced. The rear rotor/drum will probably be bad along with needing pads or bearings.

The other rear wheel should be checked for damage too. I hope my solution is helpful to you.

Mercury sable code P0500 P

Basically this means that the vehicle's speed as read by the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is not working properly.

Symptoms of a P0500 DTC may include:
* loss of anti-lock brakes
* the "anti-lock" or "brake" warning lamps on the dash may be lit
* the speedometer or odometer may not work properly (or at all)
* your vehicle's RPM limiter may be decreased
* the shifting of an automatic transmission may become erratic
* other symptoms may also be present

Causes: A code P0500 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
* The Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is not reading (functioning) properly
* There is a broken/frayed wire leading to the vehicle speed sensor
* The vehicle's PCM is not correctly configured for the actual tire size on the vehicle

Possible Solutions: The simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.
Next, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the speed sensor. The location of the sensor depends on your vehicle. The sensor could be on the rear axle, transmission, or perhaps the wheel hub (brake) assembly.

If the wiring and connectors are OK, then check the voltage at the speed sensor. Again, the exact procedure wil depend on your make and model of vehicle.

If everything looks OK, replace the sensor.

Hope this helps (remember to rate this answer).
