Replaced ox sen, and now when I clear code, temp gague works for 20 seconds then goes back to 100 degrees
Thanks
you John
Hi john , sure sounds like you may have unplugged the coolant temp
sensor or didn't get a good connection at the sensor , location , in
between two exhaust ports on the side of the engine that has the oil
fill and pcv .
J5
ECT sensor circuit high voltage , indicates the 5 volt reference is returning to the ECM and not being reduced down thru the resistor in the ECT sensor , as in unplugged or defective unit . a good test might be to unplug the ECT sensor and put a variable resistor in line and see if you can fluctuate the gauge . i like to use a variable pot from radio shack , 0 - 500 ohms for test like these , to verify gauge is working correctly .

No also replaced temp sending unit, code says voltage is high. Could high voltage to the sending unit, have problem with the ecu?
On a 2002 4.3 liter temp sending unit is on the driver side, when I clear codes PO118 comes back after 20 seconds. And then the temp gauge does not work again
i have the same problem i to got the P0118 Code so i changed the ECT sensor that fixed it for about 1hr then the engine light came back on so i changed the thermostat and it worked fine then out of no where it bombed stright to 100
