SOURCE: parking brake light stays on. I checked the switch

some makes of car use the light for more than one thing as if any thing goes South with the brakes means you should look at all of the brake system. It could be simple like a bad switch or low brake pedal. Newer cars and trucks use two lights in combination to show there is a problem.

hi this sounds like you might have either split a wire when putting the new tank on or you have a short or an earthing fault, your best bet would be to have a look where you bolted the new tank to and see if you have any trapped wires this is also a bad thing as if it is a short and not an earthing fault, it could melt the wires and may catch fire, so disconnect the battery first before moving any wires, check also when you took the truck bed off that when you put it back you did not catch any wires anywhere, or even still make sure that when you put the fasteners back in you haven't shorted or earthed some wires in the proses of doing it...hope this helps you

Parking Break Censor Will not stop beeping!

Hi. Which model? On the earlier models, the park brake light is also the brake fluid light. If the fluid is at min then the light comes on when the fluid sloshes around the resevoir. Topping up the fluid solves this.

1998 VW Jetta GL . When I Put My Hand Break Down , Brake Light On Dashboard Doesnt Come Off Completly , In That Case HeadLights Wont Come On When HeadLight Swtich Is On .

the emergency brake needs adjusting. the cover around the e-brake should be removed, and behind the e-brake arm should be a cable and tighten the nut on the end of the cable until the slack is removed from the cable. turn nut, then turn key to accessory, then release e-brake , see if the brake light goes off, if not turn off ignition, tighten e-brake nut again, turn key back to accessory release e-brake, see if light goes off. do this until you see e-brake light on dash go out. headlights should come on.

Why does the parking break light stay on in my 97 Olds Cutlas Supreme. I have checked the level of the break fluid and it is full. I did have new break lines put in last year. I did have to slam on my...

Apply the parking brake with the vehicle parked, engine turned off and transmission in Park. Release the parking brake completely, then apply it again, and ensure that it is fully released. Turn the ignition on, check to see if the Parking brake warning light is on. If it is NOT on, apply the parking brake and check to see if the warning light comes on. If the light come ON wihen the Parking brake is applied,.....fully release the parking brake and check if the warning light goes OFF. If it does NOT go off, then an adjustment is needed at the parking brake switch.

WHEN I TURN RIGHT THE PARKING BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON AND BEEPS, BUT ITS NOT PULLING TO THE RIGHT AT ALL AND IT ONLY BEEPS WHEN I TURN RIGHT!

Check you brake fluid level more then likely low, that when you turn brake fluid splashes to one side and trigger your brake light switch in the master cylinder, also have your brake check out, brake pads could be worm which requiders more fluid at brake caliper as brake pads wear, this is being that there no leaks in the brake system.
