SOURCE: 90 k1500 tbi no fuel from injectors

from the sounds of it its going to be one of 3 things 1) the injector is bad or 2) there is no power getting to the injector 3) bad relay switch.

1) to find out if the injector is good. pull the injector out and with some wire ground one side and touch the other side to your battery, every time you tap the wire to the bat you should here the injector click..

2) if injector is good get a test light and test to see if power is coming out of the wires that go to injector( on some vehicles you have to have the motor turning over befor power is sent through wire, so have someone turn the key while you check the wires with test light)

SOURCE: no start

could be a couple of things, have you run low, or run out of fuel lately, if so there is a good chance that you picked up trash from the bottom of the tank and clogged your injectors, or your fuel pressure regulator, if you are getting the correct amount of fuel pressers at the fuel rail then i would recommend popping an injector out and have someone turn the key on, if you aren't getting a good healthy mist out of the injector, then chances are they are clogged, and depending on how clogged they are you may need to replace them, i worked as a chevy mechanic for many years, and saw problems like this all the time, the placement of the pumps in the tank was not the best design, so when the tank gets below the 1/4 mark the pump is more likely to pick up trash from the tank, also the pump is liquid cooled and needs to be submerged, and below a 1/4 it is out of the fuel, this makes the pump run hotter and causes premature failure.

Check to make sure you're getting power to the coil when the key is turned. You may need a new ignition switch.

have you changed the fuel filter and emptied the gas tank and put fresh gas in? Stale gas will not start as well as fresh gas and there could be water from condensation in the tank.

remove all the sparkplugs and turn the engine over by just the starter for a few seconds to get oil pumping as you do this, look for any fluids to "pump" out of the spark plug holes..see if any antifreeze or oil shoots out..this liquid will stop the engine from turning over but it can be blown out..also the starter solenoid may not be working if the engine does not engage at all, try connecting a 10 ap charger to the vehicle in place of the battery,,and listen for a buzzing or humming this may indicate a rusted solid relay somewhere ..locate and replace it..what year of car...repost please..

Fuel engine control module, or fuel return pressure limiting valve?

Well, first of all, it would be really nice to know what kind of vehicle we are talking about. YEAR, MAKE, MODEL and ENGINE SIZE / TYPE is usually customary for this type of discussion.

What is particularly disturbing is the question of: How are you going about "put[ting] more fuel into the fuel filter"?

Overreving with no power and excessive gas consumption air filter cleaned map sensor replaced fuel pump and filter

usually caused by busted diaphram in fuel pressure regulator allowing fuel to be drawn thru regulator directly to intake manifold. Pull vacuum line off regulator, plug line with golf tee, start car and watch to see if gas comes out of regulator. If yes, turn off car, replace regulator. The regulator sits near the fuel rail on the top of the engine as shown below. I will paste replacement instructions below from autozone.com in case you need to replace the regulator. Please let me know if you have any questions.

My 89 ranger has been sitting for 7 years. i got a new battery for it and it will crank but will not start. i am not sure where to start looking to fix the problem. before it sat it ran like a champ.

Hi,
Is it getting gas and fire?
If so and you don't have fresh gas in the tank, I would suspect some bad gas after sitting for 7 years.
Hope this helps. Good luck!

The ground wire for the fuel pump is separate from the wire harness and may need to be re-grounded. (Common thing to happen) The only other thing you can do is try replacing the the fuel pump relay or the fuel pump it self if it's weak. Believe the fuel pressure for your TBI system is 13 to 14.5 PSI to have your engine run 100%.
Good luck and recheck you wire harness and ground lead wire. Thank you for using Fixya
