7 days ago - Then, hold the key in the turned position for about 30 seconds. At this point, your Camry should recognize that you are using the correct key.
Or on more modern models.
This can be done by either inserting the key into the ignition and turning it one "click" or pressing the engine start/stop button. Next, press the power button on your Camry's stereo and then press and hold the "up" tuning button.

If you ran the car empty it really only needs at least a gallon even on a hill it will start. Sometimes it takes 2-3 key cycles for full prime. If its still not starting you could have low fuel pressure , fuel pump could be faulty
Your fuel pump is located inside the gas tank and every time you turn on the ignition switch the fuel pump will start and pressurize the fuel line for a regular starting cycle. But, since your fuel lines are totally empty. I would turn on the ignition for a 20 second period. then turn it off for a few minutes to let the system fuel system reset and then turn the key back on for the same amount of time and do this for at least 4 times. Each time you turn on the key if you have waited long enough to allow the fuel system to reset. This will in the end fill the fuel lines and fuel rail on the engine and then you should be able to crank the engine and start ok. do not crank the engine until after you have cycled the ignition key about four times and wait about 2 minutes in-between cycles.
Have a nice day, regards, Dennis
HI, curious condition....you might try something to see if it is a fuel problem perhaps. Try a cold start (first thing in the morning as you say) but instead of jumping in and cranking it over, turn the key to the run position (all the way on right before you bump the starter) and wait 10 seconds before actually cranking the motor over. If it starts right up after trying this wait, it may not be priming correctly and should look at the fuel pressure regulator. (I'm thinking after is has been running, it is already primed and perhaps keeping too much prime pressure, hence the quick start when hot)...just a thought before assuming there is something amiss in the ignition or injection systems......Mike....please reply
Number one is the one at the pulley end of the motor and number 4 is at the flywheel end of the motor.
System uses a Distributorless Ignition System (DIS) with 2 ignition coils. Cylinders No. 1 and 4 use the same ignition coil. Cylinders No. 2 and 3 use the same ignition coil.
here ya go follow the steps exactly and it will work and dont forget to rate me please,
* Remote programming
Start with drivers door open, unlocked, and no key in the ignition. Insert and remove the key from the ignition switch twice within 5 seconds. close and open the driver door twice within 40 seconds. Then insert the key into the ignition key cylinder and remove it. Close and open the driver door twice within 40 seconds. Then insert the key into the ignition key cylinder and close the door. Turn the ignition switch from LOCK to ON and back once and remove key Locks should cycle once. Within 40 seconds press the LOCK and UNLOCK switches on the transmitter switch simultaneously for 1.0 – 1.5 seconds. Within 3 seconds after the previous operation, press either one of the switches for more than 1.0 seconds. Within 3 seconds after the transmitter switch has been turned OFF, the LOCK–UNLOCK operation will be automatically performed once if the registration of the recognition code of the transmitter is completed correctly. In case the LOCK–UNLOCK operation is performed twice, the registration of recognition code has failed. Perform the registration procedure from the beginning once
Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position with the odometer reading showing. Turn
the ignition key to the "ON" position while holding down the trip meter
reset knob. Hold it for at least 5 seconds. The odometer
indicates "000000" and the light goes off.
if you are trying to prime the oil system, simply pull off the the primary ignition coil wire, or if it doesn't have one, remove the wiring harness going to the coil, turn the motor over for about 15 seconds, and go from there. To prime the fuel system, simply turn the ignition switch to the on position, wait 2 seconds, turn it off, wait two seconds and turn it back on again, do this about five times, and the fuel system will prime itself.
