Remove the plate, then remove all the screws on the silver plate that is behind the license plate itself. There should be 4 other screws to remove. Once you have done this, open your trunk and partially remove the carpet behind the trunk etc--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Remove the battery terminals and clean them real well and tighten them back on the posts. If you have a bad connection here, you will get the problem you described. When you are done, go ahead and put your starter back in. While you are down there, check the voltage on the thick wire supplying battery voltage to the starter make sure it is 12V. Try to start the car and get back to me.

SOURCE: locations of fuse boxes in a 2003 buick lesabre

If it is like the 2002, one is in the engine compartment near the jumping post. The other is under the back seat.

SOURCE: where is the orifice tube on a 98 Buick LeSabre

not exactly sure but using info below you can find it.

Remember the flow for the a/c system is :
1. From the compressor a high pressure (HP) gas goes to the condenser in front of the radiator.
2. From the condenser a HP liquid goes to an expansion device (orifice tube or expansion valve)
3. From expansion device the low pressure gas enters the firewall to the evaporator.
4. From evaporator the low pressure liquid/gas mixture goes through the dryer2_bing.gif back to the compressor suction.

There will be about a 1" nut on the low pressure line between the firewall and the compressor. Remove nut and on the male side use a pair of kneedle nose pliers and remove orifice tube. Note orientation of tube.

Replace tube, reassemble, evacuate air from system, recharge with freon.

How to change a starter on a 1998 Buick lesabre

Disconnect battery, locate starter wires [should be 3] make particular note of how wires are connected, then remove the two nuts that hold them in place, loosen and remove the two bolts keeping hold of starter to prevent it falling and remove starter. Replace new starter and it's two bolts, wires and nuts as previously hooked up, and then battery wire, and carank vehicle.

I am trying to take off the struts on my 98 Buick Lesabre and the bottom studs won't back off. Are they're any tricks of the trade anyone knows of? I tried soak'n em in WD40 and torching t

if they won`t come out by soaking them or using a torch you may have to put the nut on the bolt so its flush with the end of the bolt and hit it with a big hammer or use a air hammer to move it.not sure where you heated it but heat the strut where the bolt goes through it and you have to use an acetelyne torch not a propane torch as the heat is hotter with a acetelyne torch.be aware that you may have to replace the bolt and nut if damaged.

98 buick lesabre starter

The starter is on the front of the engine, towards the transmission.
There are only two bolts and two nuts that hold it in.

The nuts hold two wires to the starter, one is connected to the positive battery terminal, the other is to engage the starter solenoid.

First disconnect the positive main wire at the battery.
Then, remove the large and small nuts holding both wires onto the starter. Be careful, since the large nut is copper and easy to strip.

There is a black plastic cover that goes behind the starter between the engine and transmission and may interfere with removal. There are three screws that hold it on. There are two that are easily seen on the larger portion, and one hidden very near to the front of the starter. It might be hard to see without a flashlight.

After removing the plastic cover, you should be able to loosen and remove the two large bolts holding the starter in.

Hope this helps, if you have any questions post again!

How do i change a starter on a 92 buick lesabre and can i get a bolt pattern for it

I dont know what you need a bolt pattern for exactly, usually you just need to locate the starter. Disconnect all the wires from it, noting their locations, and unbolt the bolts and it should come right out.

How to install starter on a 1992 buick lesabre ?

Hello Bellamy.
When removing starter, note if any shims are used between the starter and mounting surface. If shims are found, reinstall in original locations. If starter is noisy during cranking, remove one .015 inch double shim or add one .015 inch single shim to the outer bolt. If starter makes a high pitched whine after engine start, add .015 inch double shims until noise ceases.

Disconnect battery ground cable and raise and support vehicle. Remove starter braces, shields or other components that may hinder starter removal.
Support starter and remove mounting bolts.
Lower starter and disconnect solenoid wires and battery cable.
Remove starter from vehicle.
Reverse procedure to install.

There you are, remember to use safety glasses to keep your vision protected.
Use proper safety stands and wheel chocks to support the vehicle while under it.

Take care.
