Does any one have the same problem or a possible solution? Thanks.
Check under the hood fuel lines look for leaks at the fuel lines.and check under car near fuel tank see if you see any signs of fuel leaks.because smelling gasoline could be flameable and dangerous problem causing fire.
Was this the smell of burnt fuel or raw gasoline? If this started after it began getting cold outside this can indicate a problem with the EVAP system in the car. This may or may not cause a check engine light.
This site reported a 2010 model of your car having this same symptom.
They found the injector seals to be leaking.

injector seal leak causing "gas" smell in cabin - replaced injector and new seal kits on other injectors
That can be a very serious issue with the potential to cause a fire. I would have it checked by a professional mechanic and specify your concern on the injector seals being checked.

Check your battery with a volt meter. When it gets cold, the plates inside the battery restrict the amperage needed on your car. Get a fresh battery to avoid the hassle. When the current doesn't flow thru the battery due to cold weather, not even a jump will help because its still almost an open circuit. Keep the new battery warm and install it in your jag. start it immediately to get it warmed up. Check your antifreeze level also. If you need it, only put DexCool in concentrated form during your climate chill. It will mix with the diluted antifreeze in the system anyways. Good luck.

Switch off engine and it will reset as mine has done. Also my XF, got stuck in park and would not move with engine on. Remembered what I did with my first car ( Austin seven ruby) and got out and rocked the car front and back and the control knob just popped up. Am in Spain with my XF so am still worried about the sticking of the control knob problem.Have to get home at end of the month to UK and will wait until my return before contacting the [email protected]

I have a 2009 XF and I also had the same problem. I noticed that I was actually losing fuel at a rapid rate. Took it to the dealer and they said My gas line was unhooked. (Strange) Now a few weeks later I am beginning to have the same problem. I am taking it back tomorrow morning.
