Hi there:

On 1996 Plymouth Truck Voyager 2WD 3.3L MFI 6cyl the ECM (Engine Control Computer) is located under hood, driver side, front side of strut tower, mounted on inner fenderwell.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

The coil pack unit's circuit #3 drives plugs #3 and #6 directly from the PCM. If the cam sensor was defective, it should not fire any plugs. Suspect bad wiring from the PCM to the coil pack, the PCM unit itself, or a segment of the camshaft position sensor surface has lost magnetism causing missing signal to the PCM. An oscilloscope is the best test instrument for chasing down a missing pulse problem. The missing timing signal also explains why the PCM would report a 'bad camshaft sensor'. Hope this helps!

Testimonial: "I appreciate the in depth explanation of what could cause those specific plugs not to fire. I was told to maybe try changing the crankshaft pos. sensor. I figure it can't hurt. Thanks a lot."

3.3 1996 plymouth voyager died while idling and would not restart , cked asd relay , changed cam sensor, crank sensor , coil , pcm , plugs , will not start. plug to coil has power to green/orange asd...

You can ohms test, primary coil circuits. You know which one is voltage, the other three are grounds, in my opinion. Do an ohms test between voltage terminal and the ground terminals one at a time. They all should show continuity, in my opinion, if not coil is faulty. The testing is with coil unplugged.
Now if there is a problem that is causing coil to go faulty, it will probably damage the new one as well, if it isn't fixed. My opinion.

1994 Plymouth Grand Voyager 3.8 eng won't start

Check primary voltage at ignition coil and fuel injectors, engine cranking, use a test lite, dark green wire with orange tracer. If no voltage, that comes from asd relay. Some makes and models if the computer doesn't see the cam and crank sensor signals, the computer won't ground the relay.
You need to do some testing.

I cant get spark out of the coil pack

cam sensor fires the injectors to synchronise injector pulsing with the spark at the spark plugs.. U need to probably change the crankshaft sensor (around the crank pulley) as the crank sensor is what controls the ignition spark.
hope that does it.

1996 plymouth voyager 3.3 se

check your cap and rotor. if the they do not get a good enouph connection than it won't send a spak to the engine and or coil pack. you need to also check your spark plugs and wires.

Transmission problem

There are only a few connectors that need plugged in. The first one is the solenoid pack which has eight wires and a bolt that goes through the connector. then the range sensor which will be located by the shifter shaft, will have either round or flat spade like pins. The wiring is the same only difference is the connnector; you may need to get a matching plug if the new one doesn't match your vehicle's harness. Then there are two speed sensor plugs that are small simple push in plugs that have two wires each. You may or may not have a crank sensor to plug in, if you do it will plug in kind of on top of the bell housing more towards the firewall. That should be it.
