My ford 1997 f150 4.6 will not charge the battery this started after i replaced the alternator that was bad.after installing the new alternator my battery light was on and would not go off. I had the new alternator checked and was told for the auto parts store that it was not putting out enough amps, they said it was the new alternator that it was bad . so I swapped it out for another new alternator and still have the same problem..I have checked all grounds and wiring. and all fuses ...
I had this exact same problem ... under the hood onthe left side of the firewall where your starter solenoid and fuseable links are there is a little container type thing that holds a 20 amp fuse that fuse is probably blown the little container is on the firewall right below the fuseable links

the voltage regulator is built into the alternator and they say the alternator is good..
